Last week it was widely reported that Elisabeth Hasselbeck's View contract hadn't been renewed, after a viewer poll rated her views to conservative.
Today Barbara Walters denied the reports: "There's a particularly false story that keeps getting picked up about Elisabeth's alleged departure saying we don't approve of her conservative views...The truth is...we value and appreciate her point of view, it's important to us, because it helps give the show perspective and balance."
"We have no plans for Elisabeth to leave the show," said Walters. "Having said that to all of you, Bill [Geddie] and I have always said that when one of you make the choice to leave, that's your choice, and we will support your decision."
Hasselbeck herself hasn't commented on whether she'll be leaving.
Exactly, my friend, EXACTLY!!! Without her, I was suggesting they change the name from "The View" to "The Liberal American Dog Show" but then I found out Joy Behar was leaving and she was their best dog!
@wonka45ACP no that's the beauty of it .. when you're done drinking a soda you just stand around on the sidewalk until suckers passing by fill the cup with the money you spent for soda... then you just dropped the cup on the sidewalk.... and then someone else will pick it up ... that's the definition of a New York City turnkey operation
I don't watch this show, and I couldn't care less what they do. They are a private entity so they are free to do as they please. That said, it wouldn't be a very "view" like move to exclude certain points of view.
