u Jun 2 commonsense51 v Yes, it does We just saw what the IRS can do when there is socialist president like Obama. What do you suppose the EPA is doing? Post
May 31 MolonLabe v Yes, it does Ask ND how it's going. under 3% unemployment, and people camping out to make 6 figures. Do they? yes. They are fucking everyone else that cannot mine, drill or frack. Post

How many people will die before the EPA wises up? B1 Post
May 31 LEC v No, it doesn't I find it ironic that the Right rails against the EPA, and its struggle to keep our environment somewhat clean, since it is a Republican program from the Nixon years.... and so was funding to plan parenthood another Nixon program. Post
u May 19 oldsolder v No, it doesn't Our environment is already dangerously compromised and it doesn't take a scientist to figure that out. Americans drive immense gas guzzling trucks and SUV's as daily commuters just so they can say look at me, we are a greedy society with little regard for our environment or others. Unfortunately people have to be forced to take care of the environment and they do poor job at best. Recycling shouldn't be a choice it should be second nature and a law. I lived over in Germany for a while and was amazed by the amount of recycling that goes on, even in the fast food restaurants they separate the different types of garbage into color coded containers so even us Americans c... May '13 LzoJ v No, it doesn't How does the EPA have too much power? It is needed to protect our environmental because you need some type of leadership to handle the issue. We need to be able to make the right decisions when it comes to the environmental. This is issue will affect future generations to come and if we don't put a stop to it it will escalate. Post
May '13 RedFloppyShoes v Yes, it does It has destroyed more than it has protected. The California San Joaquin Valley is a great example. Post
May '13 LonePalm v Yes, it does We need to rein in EPA. It should be the Environmental Protection Agency and not the Economic Prevention Agency. Post
May '13 dontmatter v Yes, it does they are the single reason we have no manufacturing jobs left in America! Post
o Apr '13 TheHandsomeOne v Yes, it does This nation was founded by people who would KILL you and yours IF you destroyed property of which they were stewards and you wouldn't do the right thing. Too bad we're now a society of limp and lame pansies or lots of criminals who got away with a monetary slap on the wrist at most, would definitely paid the dearest price. Post
Apr '13 scotta v Yes, it does This is a program that the voters don't vote for, or have any control over. They can stop a project with out any reason. We need to cut their powers. What say you B1 r2 replies Post
Apr '13 MadAmerican They are like the ACLU, they won't go against foreign oil companies but will shut down small businesses on a whim. B1 @MadAmerican Post
Apr '13 scotta @MadAmerican I use to work in the oil business. A friend of mine wanted to construct a new refinery . If he started the paper work he was told it would take a minimum of 20 years and only God knew how much money. He decided not to do it. @scotta Post
u Apr '13 ITIMAMBIWW v Yes, it does It not so much "too much power" - as it is too much obstruction. They have bloated to a considerable budget (aka cost). And, they don't seem to "do" much of anything. Long on regulations. Extensive resources to pester. Not much in the way of participatory accomplishments. They are like a grossly overpaid referee. Experts on how others do stuff wrong, clueless on how to do it right, - and, flat out refuses to redirect their considerable resources on how to reduce their clueless-ness. The perfect government bureaucracy. Way - Too - Much Agency.. Not enough protection. Post
Apr '13 Glich v No, it doesn't That don't seem capable of enforcing wetlands protection. They ignore developers who routinely fill wetlands and encroach on federally protected flood plains - at least from what I see in NY. Post
Apr '13 bahona v I'm not sure Human beings need clean air and clean water to survive, so the EPA should have even more power than they do now, to protect the planet for future generations. However, our EPA seems to be focused on creating lots of red tape & enforcing the least important regulations. If the EPA was doing what it's supposed to do, then yes, they should have more power. If they continue to ignore the big problems and create myriad administrative-only problems, then they should be abolished. Post
u Apr '13 Itsthemedia v No, it doesn't The EPA has become a foil for the right wing whackos. Most of them are religious fanatics that think God is going to take care of them after they completely screw the earth. Ironically, If it wasnt for the EPA, we would would be living like the Chinese. Post
Apr '13 elmonoguapo v No, it doesn't Sometimes the Federal Government works to protect us. And the EPA is such a case. You cannot allow industry to do whatever they want, and the environment be dammed. History has proven that you need regulation on industry to protect the country. Post
u Apr '13 uratoon v Yes, it does Way too much!! And they don't have the sense to use the power correctly! If you're an idiot, you should have NO power! Post
Mar '13 OnlytheTruth v Yes, it does The EPA has long ago become a bureaucratic nightmare that is legislating by fiat and constantly exceeds its authority. It drives up the cost of energy & limits production of new energy sources that would lower the energy costs for all Americans. If Obama is successful in implementing 'climate change' rules for business without congressional mandate (where the laws are supposed to originate), then he will suceed in his efforts to destroy energy production in the USA. His new EPA mandate will prompt lawsuits against federal projects, and increase the probability that courts will step in and order extensive reviews as part of the âadequate analysisâ required in the la... Mar '13 jmiller94 v Yes, it does Any group that can write regulations without accountability to the voters has too much power. See also Federal Reserve. B2 r1 reply e14 endorsed Post
Mar '13 Russell797 v No, it doesn't We don't do enough to protect the natural environment let alone strip the agency assigned with the task of protecting it. This is a battle between industry and environmental concerns. Industry wants to reduce costs by removing and preventing regulation and restrictions on their polluting ways. We should be guided by science as we move into the future. The EPA is guided by science and long term thinking. Industry is guided by the profit motive and the next quarterly returns. u Mar '13 awbaldridge v No, it doesn't The same people who rail against the EPA would be the first in line to sue the government if they or their family members got cancer from a contaminated water supply, etc. The fact that we have an agency with a vested interest in maintaining clean air and water, among other things, benefits us all greatly, and it's something many people take for granted. Mar '13 justapirate v Yes, it does Having been a landfill manager and also as a private landowner I've seen regulations that defy any logic. I'm even picky about how the environment gets treated and I still cannot believe the uncontrolled decisions and regulations from the EPA. What started out as a good idea has become an uncontrolled monster in this country. The EPA has gone beyond the need for oversight. It needs dismantled and restructured. The EPA has done a lot of good, but the bad has really started outweighing that. And it answers to no one except itself. That was a HUGE error right there. B1 r6 replies e4 endorsed Post
Mar '13 marine1 v Yes, it does The EPA is most likely responsible for 50 + % of our unemployment. I guess that in their mind, jobs in China, that cause polution do not effect our environment? B3 r3 replies e1 endorsed Post
Mar '13 AlexMIA v Yes, it does While some regulation is absolutely warranted, the EPA has too much arbitrary power. Some of which that are be used for other than environmental means. B1 e2 endorsed Post
Mar '13 Thunderchicken v Yes, it does In my few EPA inspections I'd say they have too many nit picking no nothings in the field. Couple that with the ability to levy ridiculous fines and yes they have way too much power. B2 r7 replies e1 endorsed Post
