Among the items that investigators found in Adam Lanza's home was a holiday card from his mother containing a check made out to him to purchase a firearm, documents say.
The warrants released today detail the arsenal of weapons and other items found at the home Lanza shared with his mother, Nancy Lanza. It did not specify the amount of money or the date of the check.
The documents say the check was for a "C183 " with the word "firearm" in parenthesis. But that may have been a type-o, meant to say CZ83, which is a semi-automatic handgun, the New York Times said.
It's long been known that the firearms Lanza used to kill 20 children and six adults at an elementary school along with his mother and himself were legally purchased by Nancy Lanza. But this was the first evidence that she intended for him to purchase his own weapon.
