The Boston Globe is reporting that a man arrested in Watertown, near Boston, is one of the two suspects in the Marathon bombing. However no other sources have confirmed the report.
Update, 1:15am PST: The Boston Police Department released this image of the suspect on the loose in Watertown. The image resembles Suspect 2, who planted the Boston marathon bomb. Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis tweeted, "One suspect dead. One at large. Armed and dangerous. White hat suspect at large." The reference to the white hat seems to confirm that these are the Boston Marathon Suspects.
Update, 1:27am PST: Police said that one suspect was killed, and one is still on the loose. The suspects are said to be "terrorists," but police are not releasing names yet.
Original story, 11:40pm PST:
Earlier this evening a police officer was shot and killed on the MIT campus, and explosions were later heard in the nearby Watertown area.
Police were called to the MIT campus to investigate a disturbance. An officer was shot multiple times and died in hospital. "As the manhunt began for the shooter, police reportedly became involved in a chase with several suspects in which explosives were said to have been thrown from a vehicle," the AP reports.
All the news networks have been speculating that the incident is connected to the Boston bombing, given that two suspects are involved and explosive devices were found.
