A guidance counselor at a middle school in Grand Prairie, Texas has been fired
for comments made about the explosion in the nearby town of West. Her remarks were deemed racist by school officials.
Karon Wright, a now former employee of Andrew Jackson Middle School, was responding to criticism of the President's speech following the fertilizer plant explosion in West
"It's amazing how the 'whites' get angry when Obama speaks....Oh well....its most of the whites who is getting blown away. So they will soon be wiped from the earth. Lol"
The school district called the above words "highly offensive" and "disrespectful," but Wright maintains her Facebook account was hacked and that the remarks were completely out of character for someone like herself:
"My Facebook account was hacked...I am a school counselor who will never 1) jeopardize my family, 2) jeopardize my job, and 3) jeopardize the trust of the students, parents, staff, faculty, and administration of the Grand Prairie Independent School District."
Wright has been "immediately relieved of all duties."
