Three college friends of the surviving suspect in the Boston bombings case, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, have been charged with interfering with the investigation after the explosions.
Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov, two students from Kazakhstan who came to America on student visas, were charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice by throwing away a laptop computer and a backpack containing fireworks belonging to Tsarnaev, the New York Times.
They were detained on April 20 on suspected immigration violations, news reports say.
A third man, Robel Phillipos, of Cambridge, Mass., was charged with making false statements in a terrorism investigation.
The three were University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth students.
