Did you lose something? Maybe 8,000 pounds of something?
Coast Guard, Border Patrol, and local officials are a bit puzzled after finding 150 bales of marijuana left floating 15 miles off Dana Point, California today. No one know where the bales came from.
The 8,000 some-odd pounds of marijuana would've had a value of about $4 million in the black market. The drug bust is unusual in nature - no arrests were made, and officials don't have any suspects. Border Patrol spokesman Michael Jimenez said dumps like these usally only happen when law enforcement is pursuing a suspect. "Generally in these cases we're aware they're being dumped," he told the Orange County Register. "What's more unusual is that the bales were floating with no boat in sight."
