Conservatives: Whites Are the Victims of a Race War

Media is burying black-on-white crime spike, say pundits - but they don't cite statistics

"In Obama's America, the white kids now get beat up with the black kids cheering," according to Rush Limbaugh.

Limbaugh's statement sums up a belief expressed by many conservatives, according to Buzzfeed's Mckay Coppins. Coppins explains that right-leaning pundits have a message: "black-on-white violence is spiking - and the mainstream media is trying to cover it up."

Actually, crime statistics show that black on white violence is not spiking - at least, it's not if you look at statistics for hate crimes, in which racial bias is a motive. According to the FBI, 575 anti-white bias crimes were reported in 2010, down from 716 in 2008. White-on-black hate crimes are reported at a frequency that's four times higher, with 2,201 reports in 2010.

Conservative pundits would still have a case if the media was ignoring black-on-white hate crimes, and disproportionately reporting white-on-black crimes. That's the argument made by Tucker Carlson, The Daily Caller's editor: the mainstream media is "lying" by reporting that "the only hate crimes are straight white men somehow committing acts of violence against people who are not straight white men." Carlson would be right if the media reported white-on-black hate crimes at more than four times the rate they report black-on-white crimes - but he doesn't quote any statistics to support that theory.

The last figures I saw were several years ago but black on white crime then was 8 to 12 times higher than vice versa. This has been going own for 10 years or more and the FBI and our Federal Government absolutely covers it up and so does the news media!

Might be true. Based on my personal experience, I've been robbed twice. Both times it was a black male who robbed me. One of those robberies was also an assault... :(

Everything nowadays has race connected to it. They want you to believe everything is racially motivated and its always someone else's fault that this happened to you because your whatever you are. But lets be honest, how often do you see white on whatever other race crime? All the time. Whether or not its race driven, the media will remind you it is. Now, how often do you see other races on white crime? Also all the time!! But strangely a white man getting shot by another race is never regarded as rasism. But a white man shoots, lets say a black man, your gonna have the news pumping up that story. But, a white man gets shot, you might hear about it in the paper...maybe.
I would agree that white people are losing this war, but I have to watch what I say. I don't want to come off as racist...

Dry your eyes, clean your nose, and change your panties. If there is a race war going on, it is one that began hundreds of years ago. What you are feeling is the victim fighting back. This has never happened before and why you are feeling the way you do.

Rush Limbaugh is a race baiter and great manipulator. He manipulates you people everyday, because he knows he can. You've been pre-programmed to believe what he and others of your race tell you. Hell, most of you don't verify the information you share with each other. you take all information for gospel and you believe everything you are told. It is not your fault. It works for your race, because you've all benefitted greatly from being white. The problem now for you is white is not working, it is becoming a detriment. Thank God!

You may not have started this fight, but it has become yours, because you've known all of your life you've reaped the rewards of the things put into play by your ancestors for white supremacy and you did not stop it or say anything about it. You've taken everything, then you took the rest.

The race war is of your making. Had you all just been fair, got out of the way and allowed things to develop as they would without putting up road blocks, Jim Crow, obstructive laws, and now enacting voter suppression laws this wouldn't even be an issue.

First off your opinions are bigoted. Maybe you've been abused by the system or by a white authority figure somewhere, but so what? You are doing the exact same stereotypeing that you accuse others of. And yes there are race baiters and manipulators on all sides, maybe you've heard of Al Shatpton or Jesse Jackson or the Black Panthers. These folk prey on all of us. Slavery ended generations ago and affirmative action laws been in place for years. I dont know a single white public figure that could get away with the kind of disparaging statements that a minority can make without being villified. The problem with your line of thinking is that it makes your happiness dependant on the actions and attitudes of others. That pretty much never works out. If your simply looking for someone to blame for own failures and just looking for a fight, then by all means continue on. You'll find what you're looking for and your fears will become a self fulfilling prophecy which will only further your delusions of hate. But you're in a lather, what ever happened to judging a person by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin? Unless you think that guy was a race baiter as well.

Actually, most violent crime in the United States is perpetrated by ethnic minorities against victims who are also ethnic minorities. That is the real story that the media is squelching.
