Rick Perry seems a bit preoccupied with "subduing" his enemies, at least judging by the questionable psalm he selected for the Perry Family Christmas card this year:
Praised be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hand for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues people under me. - Psalm 144: 1 - 2
It's possible that Perry is preparing to do battle for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination. In which case the combat-themed psalm choice could be seen as directed at Chris Christie, who Perry has criticized in the past for not being conservative enough.
