"6. Ten percent believe that fluorescent bulbs are the government's way of obtaining obedience."

If that were true, I'd have to say it's an epic failure. Americans are the most cantankerous, ornery, bull-headed, disobedient people on the planet.

    Let's keep it that way.

Where I am located right now you can't even buy incandescent light bulbs everything is florescent. I am used to them now but they do make reading a little harder on the eyes. My guess is that led or an offshoot of led technology will replace all of this soon. Hardly any problems with it except the cost, which will come down. Current and heat management seem to be the main issues right now for room lighting

"Thirty-seven percent believe the government is suppressing natural medicines."

Well that one is plausible. The pharmaceutical companies would continue to make huge profits at the expense of the ill, sometimes terminally ill. It reminds me of a story, once I hired an HVAC guy to come over and fix my cooling system. He did it so quickly, so I asked him "can you show me how to do that?" and he said "Well if I taught everyone how to do what I did, I'd be out of business." If people can make their own medicine.... there goes the multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical industry.

You'd like our HVAC guy. He's been here twice and both times he not only showed me how he diagnosed the problem but how he fixed it. He did such a good job of it that I am sure that should either of those problems ever happen again I'll be able to do the job myself. The up side for him is the 3 new customers I recommended and the good review I posted on Yelp.

@PNWest Just make sure you don't get injured or electricuted working on your own equipment. Or burned if it's a furnace.

@AlexMIA We have a heat pump. 1st thing is to turn off the appropriate circuit breaker (marked with a sharpie). Then the on/off switch on the furnace/aircond. Then check with a voltmeter inside the panel. He's very careful, especially with 240V!

@PNWest I don't know why but that reminds me of the tommyboy quote of I could get a good look at a tbone by sticking my head up a bull's a%%.. but I would rather take the butchers word for it.
Sometimes we just want to know we have a good butcher. we don't necessarily want to go cut our own steak.

I don't necessarily agree with any of these conspiracy theories...but...I think what the government has actually done would make these look like small potatoes in comparison...if we only knew

I do believe there is some truth to some of these. For instance, I don't necessarily think the govt was complicit in 9/11, however, I do believe that there were mulitple levels of failure and question how every single safeguard was ignored from months before in the planning stages to minutes before when multiple planes were going where they weren't supposed to. I also think that the 'natural cures' has some truth to it, though I think this is more of the coporate/govt inside handshake to make sure the medical industry still makes billions.

So you post this link http://www.businessinsider.com/true-governmen... which has the government PURPOSELY poisoning people during prohibition killing over at least at thousand people. The government purposely not treating 399 black men who had syphilis while telling them they were to be treated for over 40 years. The third conspiracy is acknowledging the government injected over 98 million people with a possible cancer causing vaccine.(But believing vaccines could be dangerous today is ridiculous?) The fourth is the government admitting to a false flag for a war with the Gulf of Tonkin (But 911 "truthers" are ridiculous for believing we may not be getting the whole story?)

The fifth another government attempt to plan false flags. "Declassified government documents show considerations included: host funerals for "mock-victims," "start rumors (many)," and "blow up a U.S. ship in Guantanamo Bay and blame Cuba." They even suggested somehow pinning John Glenn's potential death, should his rocket explode, on communists in Cuba

    Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/true-governmen... ;

The 6th is the government intentionally testing UNWITTING people with LSD.

But believing in any conspiracy theories now is crazy?

You forgot our American government intentionally infecting Guatamalans with Gonorrhea in 1946-1948.......just to see what would happen. No worries, tho-we apologized quietly behind the scenes to Guatamala in 2010.

@Tamal_Pais Paraquat wasn't a secret; they told everybody they were using it. That was the point--to cut down on sales.

Too many "conspiracy theories" have been proven true- Operation Ajax, where in 1953 the CIA led a coup in Iran which ousted a legally elected prime minister. Why do you think Iran hates us so much? We too would hate any nation that removed our leader from office and put a puppet in place (Ukraine, anyone?).
MK Ultra (mind control) was proven true. Operation Northwoods, where in the early 1960s, the CIA wanted to shoot down a plane full of Americans and blame it on Cuba to start a war. Kennedy put a stop to it. Asbestos, Watergate- proven true. The lies told about the "incubator babies" to get Americans to support the first gulf war? Proven to be lies. CIA Church Committee assassinations, COINTELPRO, Iran-Contra, the CIA running drugs in LA- all proven true. Even the House of Representatives Select Committee on Assassinations found in 1978 that there was a conspiracy including the mob and the CIA to kill Kennedy. Just because it is a theory about a conspiracy does not mean it is not true.

Number five is the only one that's really possible, maybe number three but I doubt that since bankers would want a better economy so they get more money. So many people believe in everything they read on the Internet it's insane. Wanna start a conspiracy theory? Find a picture, put some text on it in MS Paint or something, then post it on Conspiracy Watch's Facebook page or post it somewhere in GodlikeProduction's site. A lot of dumb shit seems to originate in those places.

I'm not sure I believe any of these but it is always good to be weary of government.
BTW, I've been hearing that compact flouresants will be phased out by 2016 and new code will require led fixtures. So obey! and have fun paying fifty dollars and up per light fixture.

Yea and their are some that are brain washed to the point they think that their is nothing going on in the US today 'and that is a reason that these story's are not conspiracy's. Their is always a reason the story was told in the way it was 'so that make's it not a conspiracy. If their is a reason their is no conspiracy Think about it

Conspiracy theories are the result of people losing trust in the institutions. The government, media, law enforcement, military, the courts, the schools etc.
