Anyone else getting deja vu from this story?
    .
    It's a stock photo at http://www.shutterstock.com/s/friends_group_i...
    .
    Notice the file name?
    .
I think intent is clear here. Some bumbling web designer searched for a photo of children that showed "diversity". Shoot. I wouldn't even be surprised if that web designer was latino.
    .
Either that or this is "code" for what?

He might have been trying to show diversity, but the problem here is this; there's no diversity in the picture. Everyone in it is one form or another of Asian, which makes them all the same ethnic group.

    Ok. So my point remains...
    .
Either this is an example of ineptitude on the part of a web designer coupled with no one taking a second look at it except Politico.com and Media Matters....
    .
    OR
    .
The RNC is attempting to send a coded message to the Asian community at the expense of the latinos.
    .
I'm going to apply Occum's razor to this one... and be done with it.

This is obviously code for: "We have your children, and unless you send us fifty trillion dollars you'll never see them alive again."

We've decided to venture into the hostage taking business, duh.

Are you talking about the RNC, Asians, or latinos? Does not compute. But I'll go out on a limb and conclude that you don't like latinos. That's nice.

"Can Republicans ever hope to close the gap between themselves and Hispanic voters?"

Republicans seem to have always had a problem "closing the gap" with any minority.

The easiest way to be racists is to claim your not racists. But the reality is that the GOP is the party of white racists. There are plenty of minority racists but most of them don't vote. The right wing does.

"Politicians they all lie, just to get your vote
Say they'll make things better, every time they don't
All about the money, they steal their friends
Been the same stinking way, since the world began"

Way to overgeneralize Coolarrow. Your condescension toward latinos ability to think for themselves. And nice overgeneralization of Cubans too. I noticed the vitriol in your comment toward Cubans that oppose Totalitarianism. This comment told me so much about you. Makes me proud that we rarely agree.

Actually, if you trace back far enough. The aboriginal people came from Asia long before the Spaniards took over Latin America and interbred with them. Okay, maybe the word most was off since there are Hispanic people in Europe who were not related to anyone involved in the colonization.

Pretty sure stuff like this isn't why the president holds such a large lead. How many do you think seen this and was offended by the Republicans webpage PR whatever it was? It's because of the party stances the gap isn't closing.

It's not a good idea from both sides to get to comfortable, right now romney and obama are tied, but obama might win with the hispanic vote at the end.

Ummm... I don't think the RNC is liking Palin much these last 3 years. You know since she helped derail GOP plans for electing their preferred candidates in the mid-terms. In fact, I don't think there is any affiliation between the RNC and http://www.sarahpac.com/
