"Most working- and middle-class white Americans don't feel that they have been particularly privileged by their race. They've worked hard all their lives, many times only to see their jobs shipped overseas or their pension dumped after a lifetime of labor. They are anxious about their futures, and feel their dreams slipping away; in an era of stagnant wages and global competition, opportunity comes to be seen as a zero sum game, in which your dreams come at my expense. So when they are told to bus their children to a school across town; when they hear that an African American is getting an advantage in landing a good job or a spot in a good college because of an injustice that they themselves never committed; when they're told that their fears about crime in urban neighborhoods are somehow prejudiced, resentment builds over time."

    -Barack Obama

White people are not owed anything, minorities are not owed anything. But we should be working together so we can be equals in a country plagued by racism thinly veiled in political rhetoric.

I agree, but I will say the first step is being truthful. You can not work for true equality if you do not recognize there are inequities.

Liberals pretend not to be racist, but they are race-obsessed. Not only that, Politix didn't even bother posting the racial attitudes of non-whites. I guess they don't matter. What's more disturbing and not surprising is the paternalistic attitudes White liberals have toward African-Americans and Hispanics.
  • #18
    !
@Ets101592 which is racist to the core! These people are hell bent on segregating America. They continue to pour salt in the wound. It's sickening.
  • #22
    !
@TigerLandSC Exactly, which is why they continue the lie that conservative "hate" blacks, because conservatives want the same for everybody....to work and prosper, to get ALL people off the gument plantation of dependence and poverty created by the liberal elitists.
  • #25

Are you kidding? If they post the racial attitudes of blacks and hispanics truthfully they will be stuck having to explain away their racism.

I keep hearing that blacks are more racists..........whites are more racists........browns are more racists..........etc.
If you really want to know who is more racists, look at our very own government. They have done everything they can to keep all of us at odds against each other then any other group. And, it's all a ruse to distract and divide while they pillage and loot..........

    @stepped_in_it

True that, and don't forget the media too...look at how many times MSNBC has been accused of racist crap with what they've said already...like the adopted kid by the Romney's for one, and the constant racist rants by Sharpton as well. Sometimes the wounds would heal up but the bastards keep picking at the scabs.

    @Fleck

I can Google MSNBC Racist Remarks and get a shit load of examples and one where they had to appologize to the Romney's...FOX...not so much.

    Where's your hard examples?

I don't know if discrimination against whites is as bad as discrimination against others is worse, but it is every bit as bad. Affirmative Action is anti-white bigotry.
  • #9
    !
I agree, but would have said affirmative action has become anti-white bigotry. Can't we all agree there was a time in this nation when affirmative action was necessary? All it does now is lower standards to the lowest common denominator, thereby wreaking our nation as a whole.
  • #48
    !
@PauldenZangpo Couldn't have said it better. Affirmative Action had its moment, and now that moment is long past retirement. Time to eliminate it and judge a person on the content of their character instead of the color of their skin.

Case in point; that black HS kid who got accepted at EVERY Ivy League school! When I saw that, all I could say was "Holy shit, that is one smart kid!
  • #51
    !
@PauldenZangpo Perhaps it may have been needed at one time, I'm not sure.

However I do think the sensible thing to do at this time is to not consider race at all.

To paraphrase MLK, judge people by the content of their character, not their skin color.

Perhaps when whites become the minority in the new Amerika they will have the protection of the ACLU and government as others have?I doubt it but maybe?
  • #39

Mike I am not trying to bash you with my following statement.

I don't want anyone protecting me. I want to be judged completely on my own merits. I want my children to be judged on their own merits.

When Anglos/"White" become the political minority in USA , as far as the politicians , those who call the shots , etc . USA will be destroyed .

The standards which you see will be a memory.

Look at the zero standards in Latin America because that is the sad future of USA .

Heck just look at the political debates and political "wars" they are conservative vs liberal and Anglo vs Anglo.

Anglo's will get you from point A to point B , The others will NOT .

Anyone who doubts me , simply needs to look at the WHOLE continent of Africa, ALL of Latin America and the "Arab" Middle east .

USA is on borrowed time as is Europe with their failed "Illegal Muslims please move here" mentality .

Except in racists stereotyping where there is no such thing as an individual but rather a group. Every blacks negative acts are assigned to the entire race. "blacks this" and "blacks that". "Blacks can't think for themselves" and "blacks are pawns of the left", absolutely no acknowledgement that blacks are individuals. But a white persons negative acts are NEVER a representation of whites as a group.

Guess Who Thinks Racism Against Whites Is a Bigger Problem Than Racism Against Blacks

I don't see that conclusion in the figures presented. What I do see and agree with is that there is racism against whites.
  • #54

I don't get that conclusion from the data, either.@PolitixMary, where does it ask the question that led you to the title of your article?

Blacks and Hispanics are as racist as anyone else , The ONLY difference is that as of yet neither has the political power or power period that White's have.

Actually living in S.Florida , If you want to see REAL racism , look at the way Hispanics here treat Blacks .

Boy are Blacks in for it when Hispanics but esp the CA RAZA types run certain states.
  • #130
    !
    @Fleck
That may be the case in S.Florida, but in areas where Blacks are majority the situation is reversed. Black vs. Brown is the real "race war" in America.

Why were only white people polled for this study? To get an accurate representation a survey should be taken of minority attitudes toward whites. This is another useless study that avoids any actual evidence and is used to stir emotions rather than bring to light real facts and issues.
  • #86
    !
That would be a different study. They told what they wanted to tell differentiating between conservatives, independents and Liberals. I thought you got the point, they made no attempt to deceive.

A liberal woman was talking to a conservative man and said, "I'm not racist, every time I see a black person, I just feel so sorry for them." LMAO. This is typical liberalism. They only "feel sorry" for you because they think your skin color makes you to dumb to do anything for yourself.
  • #19
    !
@The_Gipper I'm sure. It seems to me that many conservatives have bought into the Democrat definition of racist. Which, as best as I can tell is: anybody who by action or words, commits a real or perceived fault against a minority racial group. Ironic, huh?
  • #23
    !
@Ets101592 they will never realize it. Instead they will sit around accusing conservatives of being racist because we don't treat blacks like children. We recognize blacks as individuals. We recognize blacks are just as capable of success as whites. We also recognize that not all blacks think alike, nor should anyone expect them to!!

I'd like to see a thorough study done on "white flight" just to see if white Liberals move out of a soon-to-be black neighborhood or town just as fast as a white Conservatives do.

That's why white liberals control all the suburban areas around Philly! Hell, Chelsea Clinton's mother in law, Majorie Margolies is running for Congress...again! Her district is VERY liberal.

Good point. I think you might be surprised, though. In Memphis, conservatives move to Germantown and Collierville-20mins from the hood; Liberals move to Midtown-5mins from the hood. That's my unscientific observation.

Nice graphic, but I don't see anything surprising or disturbing in it. I would be curious to see this same graphic from five years into the Clinton and Bush presidencies. I expect the last five years has made things worse.

I too think that racism against whites is currently the bigger issue. Like sexism against men is the bigger issue. Let me explain that position: there are no affirmative action programs, no legal repercussions, no laws to protect them and no social repercussions when these groups get victimised. This should be corrected but we all know the libs won't since the libs don't want equality.
  • #169
    !
You think Whites suffer more racism than minority groups and women suffer more sexism than Whites. I defend White males when liberals crap on them and state it is acceptable because the victims are white males. That said WM are the rarely the victims of sexism and racism.

I tried to find some information about the survey but couldn't. I tend to want to see some of the behind-the-scenes of graphics like this.

How many people were polled? How were they polled?
    Where were they polled?
What type of "math" was used to compile the data?
What is the reason behind the polling?
  • #69
    !
People never ask that. A local poll said people would welcome higher taxes for more playgrounds in poor neighborhoods. Want to bet the poll was taken in a poor neighborhood where no one pays tax?
  • #44

affirmative action: no. is the criminal justice system unfair to blacks: very. we should be helping minorities but only because they are disproportionately poor, and we can do that just by focusing on poverty in general. Democrats are babying minorities too much. but affirmative action is not even popular among them.
  • #114

The question is "as big a problem", not "a bigger problem". Also meta results have been proven to be biased over and over.
  • #84
    !
I don't know if I would say bigger but I believe discrimination against anyone of any color is wrong. I believe that in this country our goal should be that the we always pick the best qualified in all areas without regard to any biases.

    So?
We can't pretend everybody behaves equally when they have different values and cause self- inflicted injuries-- and use Dem Hollywood and media to spread such deficient values on everybody else as the nation declines. Rap culture glorified the loser who didn't study, dropped from school, got random women in bed and didn't pay child support later-- since 1990 increasingly mainstream by Dem Dependecy Machine. That's what's really behind this survey.
  • #11

"...use Dem Hollywood and media to spread such deficient values on everybody else..."

Enough already. Put on your big girl panties. Either reinstate the Fairness Doctrine to include Hollywood and what you perceive to be liberal media or quit bitching about it. Besides, that's the free market baby!
  • #47
    !
@PauldenZangpo I wasn't only referring to Dem media bias, which is so obvious it's not funny. I was also referring to much bigger Dem Hollywood filth productions that spew garbage everywhere, but you prefer to ignore the ramifications. Folks like that think it won't come back to harm them, but it already is.
  • #56

@jeffreyknee that's the cost of living in a free market and free society. Constantly bitiching about it is akin to being ant-free market and ant-free society-to use conservative logic.
