    @Knightkore

    I used to listen to Stern when I lived in NY but lost track of him here .

    What did he say that got him pulled off?

    Another "Brilliant" reporter. So they threatened to destroy her car? Not beat her up and rape her? Huh, at least she wasn't attending an Arab Springtime Ice Cream social like another blond reporter, if she was she'd be lucky to leave with her life.

    You mean notorious liar Lara Logan, who most likely made the whole thing up just like she made up her Benghazi story?

    Cheering a bombing in civilian territory is pretty twisted. Ms Magnay's impulse is understandable, but she'd have been better off to have done a story about that behavior, not just 140 characters of indignation.

    Yeah, she would have. But they should not have sanctioned her. If yu or I were threatened or harassed by a bunch of creeps, we might have a thing or two say, also!

    Well...may I point out how many here cheered when 911 was defended finally...ditto most responses to things like what the nail bombing idiots did...I have to say I find it hard to defend either side now but will not stand by and let people here make it sound like the Palis simply are offering a dozen roses to their neighbors daily.

    @HombreS
    I must have missed something. When exactly was 911 "defended"? When Obama got Bin Ladin? Yes, that was a cheerable scenario.......

    Hopefully, you aren't referring to the "Shock and Awe (shit!) We're bombing an innocent sovereign country!" murderous, war-crime web of lies perpetrated by our war-criminal Bush NeoCon Republicans.......that destroyed America's image, prestige, and economy........? Yes, cheering mass murder is reprehensible.

    Of course you yank the reporter who is telling the truth. Constantly No News, is no better than Faux. The jews don't belong there, never have. The British gave it to them - but it wasn't theirs either. Now the oppressed have become the oppressors. WOW what a great situation. It becomes more evident everyday that the jews and netanyahu and the likud party would just as soon kill them all off. All this ov er a little piece of desert. What a crock of shit.

    Yes she is a reporter she reports once she becomes the news she is no longer effective. Having said that the bottom feeders who threatened her are scum.

    In her defense, I watched the live report. Those people cheering the explosions really was kinda fucked up, whether you agree with the situation or not. And this tweet just made those assholes even more assholes if true.

    But professionalism takes center stage. You are a CNN reporter. What you do represents CNN. Sometimes in the heat of the moment no matter how hostile, you can't forget that you represent a major news network and that ur actions could tarnish the organization you represent.

    Well I'm sure if your neighbor, without provocation, started shooting hundreds of rockets into your neighborhood, then you might show a bit of glee and happiness when your neighborhood retaliated.

    If someone is shooting rockets at you and your government reacts to stop the rockets why wouldn't you cheer, I would.

    Nowhere near the provocation of the attacks that caused them to lose the west bank and Golan heights in the first place...but I guess that would fall under the category of inconvenient truth.

    Social media and ALL other aspects social life, whether public or private, outside of the workplace, should be off limits to employers. I realize this woman was "on assignment" but, twitter is NOT CNN. When is somebody going to have enough brass sue over this bullshit, I wonder?

    I'm just surprised that the usual free speech, first amendment people aren't standing up for her like they usually do...

    Never mind, I forgot that those people only stand up for it when if matches their beliefs...

    @thhutton Exactly! Conservatives try and pretend they love the constitution. But it turns out they only like a few little parts if it. Hypocrisy from the right is still in full force

    @thhutton First Amendment protects you from going to prison for your speech. It does not protect you from being disciplined by your employer for your speech.

    Cheering the killing of anyone is wrong. The 'righties' should agree with that. After all, they want to protect everyone right from the point of conception. And when someone posts a comment over people cheering over another's death, it's probably showing their 'bias' against war and killing. Gee.... How terrible. Not.

    I certainly don't agree with Hamas, but to cheer the deaths caused by war, is pretty low.
  • #141
    !
    Ok maybe cheering is bad and insensitive, but they might feel good that there is one less
    terrorist that won't be killing them. If a right to life tea party type got killed would you at least smile?
  • #145
    !
    @magnacarta - Wow! You are really warped. Ever been to war? Have you ever seen the guy next to you blown up because politicians and dictators play their silly power games?
  • #149
    !
    So you are a judge of me. I served my time, saw no action. But why do you think that what my experience or lack of changes any of the facts. Bad people need to be gotten rid of. You do not understand the concept so I'm sure we can't count on you for defending our country. Warped is not me, your insulting crap makes me wonder why you involve yourself in things over your f--ng head.
  • #150
    !
    @magnacarta - Yeah. Kill people and cheer, instead of trying to solve problems diplomatically. As I said, I don't agree with Hamas. But I won't have a debate about war with someone who thinks it's something to cheer and smile about.

    As to your earlier question whether I'd 'smile' about a Tea Partier getting killed,,,,, Maybe just one I can think of at the moment.
  • #151
    !
    @eyesonu Read your history diplomacy just delays the inevitable.
    Evil folks use it to take advantage of the weak or people like you. So who is it that you would like killed? We're not even married. Take your wrath on real enemies and killers and don't bother me.

    Why is everyone in America always appeasing and backing down from their own moral standpoint? The slimy belly of the USA is showing worldwide that we have completely lost any sense we may have had at one time.

    This whole thread just goes to show how hypocritical most of you conservatives really are. When its one of your own in trouble for saying something stupid you start screaming free speech and first amendment. But now that someone on the left said something stupid you want to burn her at the stake.... You all are truly pathetic...

    Perhaps there, at this time. I say give her a break, if some scum had harassed and threatened me, I might have a few choice words to say of a moment. Doesn't disqualify her as a journalist altogether, she didn't deserve the embarrassment I think.

    I'm sue these news organizations know more about what's appropriate that I, though. Not my line of business.
  • #131

    @sensiblycenter

    Her bosses agree with your view, or she would have been fired and not just reassigned.

    Their problem is avoiding the even the possibility of bias on the part of the news organization.

    Once your objectivity is questioned, you become the equivalent of Fox News.

    She has a problem with one of the most powerful militaries in the world bombing an open air prison, then people cheering the massacre on. If this burns corporate media's ears so much they should be ashamed.
  • #71
    !
    Please Israel is not even close to most powerful militaries. They have only 8 million population!
  • #72
    !
    @CVX I said one of the most powerful militaries. They rank 13th in the world in military might. What they are doing to the people that live in the open air prison is murder. And anyone that supports this massacre is as evil as they are.

    You need to get out more. The reality is kill or be killed. This was going to be rub out from the beginning (1948). Get it understood humans have blood feuds. The only thing that matters is to be standing at the end.
    So I am a realist, none of the childish idealism.
  • #78
    !
    @CVX If you are a realist. Except the reality of the situation then. The 13th most powerful army in the world is murdering children, women and old folks and almost 3/4 of the people on this forum approve. The blood lust of these posters is disgusting and if there is a God that most of them seem to believe in, these people will be held accountable for supporting the murder of these people.

    @Chomsky0
    That is because the Hamas won't let things alone. There is a point when enough is enough. Being real is not disgusting. It is time proven that the enemy must be destroyed. I support choosing to destroy your enemies. If i was a leader of Israel, I would channel Genghis Khan. Hamas is the group hiding among the population of Gaza. Why don't you blame them?
    Your stance is an approval of Terrorist actions. You are de facto cheering and approving sending rockets into their neighbor's and expect no retaliation. By not understanding these tactics, you are in essence saying killing the citizens of Israel is ok. And Israel should do nothing.
    The Israeli are very kind. They are using targeted weapons and are getting very good at it. You mind is mislead by this 13th most powerful foolishness. The harping on that point shows that you have no understanding of what you are reading. It is not surprising. Unless you have spent time understanding what that actually means it is easy to be mislead. Right now there are only 3 nations with the population and industrial might to wage 21st century war. The United States,China,And India. Others like Russia have the industrial and technology but not the numbers. They can defend themselves . They can influence.
    In real conflict people are killed. This is a police action nothing more. Counter insurgency with a scalpel not a hammer. Gaza is there because no other country wants these people. The other Arab and Muslim states do not want them. Israel is for the time being stuck with them.
