CNN has reassigned correspondent Diana Magnay to Moscow after she tweeted that Israeli youths were "scum" because they had threatened her and cheered the bombing of Gaza. Magnay quickly deleted the tweet, but it was retweeted more than 200 times. Buzzfeed got a screenshot:

CNN has issued an explanation and apology: "After being threatened and harassed before and during a liveshot, Diana reacted angrily on Twitter," a CNN spokeswoman told The Huffington Post. "She deeply regrets the language used, which was aimed directly at those who had been targeting our crew. She certainly meant no offense to anyone beyond that group, and she and CNN apologize for any offense that may have been taken."
In the past 48 hours, NBC has also booted a senior correspondent from reporting on the Israel-Gaza conflict. Ayman Mohyeldin was canned after an angry social media post. However, the two cases are garnering very different responses. While few people seem sympathetic to Magnay, there is a major online campaign for NBC to restore Mohyeldin, using the hashtag #LetAymanReport.
