    Second amendment right applies to all colors folks...the question I have is are they gunning for the police more, or on look out for looters too?

    Time will tell I guess but damned, those uniforms look awful hot in the Texas heat.

    I don't know if you noticed, these demonstrators are in South Dallas, TX. I don't think they are having any looting. I think this may be the formal introduction of the goose to the gander!

    @Keyjo

    I knew that...but my question still remains. Are they after cops or robbers in the long run if or when it may happen? I don't mind folks keeping them honest (police) but not too much in promoting anarchy or racism and more lawlessness...that was my take.

    I know...the lefitsts try to bait conservatives with accusations of racism. The truth is that most conservatives are happy to see our black brothers and sisters exercising their constitutional rights.

    @galt45

    And yet some who champion whites carrying guns without questioning their motives, they are questioning the motivation of the blacks carrying guns.

    I can think of only two reasons for that.

    1. They are just being racist.

    2. They know that the treatment of blacks for the last 4 hundred years has been horrid..and it scares them that they might have to pay the piper.

    @Canoochee "Gun nuts" is a term reserved for those with a gun fetish, who are unreasonable and act as if the entire constitution IS the second amendment. They oppose even the most sensible ideas, such as keeping guns in child proof safes, and promote notions like all children should pass gun related courses to graduate. The incident that comes to mind for me are two idiots that marched around portland oregon within a week of the conneticut school shooting with rifles and no signs explaining it was about second amnd rights. They scared the hell out of people for no reason, and in response to their stupidity the town actually made it illegal to walk around rifles around in public.

    The new black panthers are totally different, they combine the guns with a message, both through signs and the name "Huey P. Newton Gun Club" Huey believed that black people had the right to self defense against racist Oakland police that were murdering and brutalizing people and used to patrol in Oakland, go armed with rifles or shotguns with fellow black panthers to scenes of police in black community and observe to assure no police brutallity.

    @PoliticalSpice You should really look up the Southern poverty law centers view of the new black panther party hate group.They aren't boy scouts they hate whites,police ,jews and a host of others.

    @miketost First, I can not believe YOU would credit southern poverty law center, they stand for everything I thought you opposed. Second, they are primary a liberal group, and oppose many left leaning groups so I'm not certian if I trust them. In truth I know little about the new black panther party, but I do know that the original black panther party was often called racist anx that they were not racist, and worked with white leftist. I also am very familiar with the history of the founding of the original black panther party (which was called the "black panther party for self defense"), and huey newtons role in that group and his historic trial.

    When the original Black Panthers refuse to accept the new black panthers as a peaceful organization there is a reason for that.The SPLC tracks all hate groups of all races .Perhaps you should brush up on what the New black panthers are all about ?

    Goose, meet Gander;
    Gander, meet Goose!

    This is exactly why I left the big city and moved to a small country town! When the shit hits the fan, I want to be away from the breeze.

    My brother did the same.....him and his family live in a neighborhood that is.....well has a lot of space between people.....out in the country.....

    Might be a good idea for my wife and I to do the same.....

    @Knightkore You would be surprised how much better it is. Even the brats messing with the mailboxes is almost unheard of. My neighbors like loud music, it doesn't bother us not living right outside their window.

    Wonders now what everybody thinks about the news that the officer in Ferguson had sustained a facial fracture and was being charged at again before he shot. Is he still a rogue cop shooting a man because of his color? Or a police office defending his life against someone who had already beaten him and was about to do it again.

    Yikes.... the Trayvon Martin case all over again. Magically photos of a hurt murderer shows up long after the fact.

    @tulmon I guess that is why it is unwise to jump to conclusions. When we allow the process work through the facts none of us will look foolish. Once we see the facts and then determine an injustice occurred we can all march arm in arm.

    The way Sean Paul Kelly and a few on here are acting it seems they only support open carry if it's blacks doing it. As a libertarian I support open carry no matter who is doing it. Does that satisfy Sean Paul Kelly and you other shit stirrers?

    I don't support anyone carrying guns openly or concealed and that goes for the cops except under extreme conditions.

    So what is the purpose of openly carrying a weapon to a confrontation? For the purpose of media education, an AR-15 is a rifle so the "carrying rifles and AR-15s" comment indicates the need for knowing a little bit about the subject you are reporting on.

    @Cincinnatus I have to ask - exactly what point are they making? What is the statement? Are they saying they support what happened in Ferguson and they are ready to shoot someone?
  • #165
    !
    @AndrewMC I did, why do you ask? Why are they shouting "Justice for Michael Brown" when they have no idea at all why he is dead? Why did one man's mother call police on him? Didn't he clean his room? Did he not do his homework? Maybe she was afraid of him. Maybe the police killed him because he attacked them. Being black isn't an excuse for being an ignorant criminal predisposed to dislike and blame everything on white people and law enforcement but that is exactly what I see in these protests.

    @Your_Name_Here What I got from the video is that they feel they have a problem with police vs black neighborhood, and that they aren't getting justice. Not saying I agree, just saying that's what I got from the video.

    As far as I know none of the Bundy protesters burned down any of the local convenience stores, robbed liquor stores and looted everything in sight. There were no protesters shot by other 'peaceful protesters,' and they didn't carry guns in the name of a radical cop killer and all around criminal, Huey Newton. Who, by the way, was murdered by another black agitator.

    None of these people have "burned down...convenience stores, robbed liquor stores, and looted everything in sight"... Pay attention if you're going to be commenting. This isn't even taking place in Ferguson.

    I support these folks and hope they are doing it right with lots training: training with the weapon--maintenance, assembly/disassembly, lots of target training in potential danger/combat situations, first aid,Intel on local gangs, etc. This is just a quick list...I would guess there are many more.

    Do the Assembly with weapons...just do it right,

    Good for them for upholding the 2nd Amendment.

    Now I am curious how Mr. Holder will handle people handling guns with this situation, considering that they are black. Holder has proven to be a race baiter...and has done so, size arriving in Ferguson. Will he be even in his criticisms? Or will he give preference based on race?

    @RedFloppyShoes Not missouri either...did you read the story? They are in Texas and this is a protest. It kind of makes the rest of your post irrelevant. For the record, I'm not a fan of holder. I could see some of his comments in the past as race baiting, as I saw your original comment in a similar way.

    @Now_What I did read it at 4am. You are correct texas. My mistake.

    And no it doesn't make anything irrelevant. How he handles the 2nd amendment issue, as it pertains to race does make a difference.

    What's the problem? The same people whining about this are the same ones that praise idiots that carry their assault rifles into department stores and fast food restaurants. I bet that opinion on open carry of assault rifles changes when you see black people doing the same thing.

    Black Demonstrators Are Openly Carrying Guns To Protest Police Shootings

    GOOD! Now they need to start protecting their neighbors business's
    They need to man up and begin to take care of their neighborhoods.
    If they had done this in the first place , Myron wouldnt have been stealing those mag wheels.
    The 2nd Amendment isnt just for whites.

    That's what their doing - patrolling their neighborhood - in Texas - because they don't feel the cops are doing an adequate job. I am sure you must know it, but your comment doesn't read that way.

    What most people don't know about ferguson is the number of times massed protesters faced down looters. The times looters where driven out of local businesses by armed customers, and employees who saw the looting on tv and went to stop it.

    Why not, it's their right? The first gun control supporters were the KKK (Democrats) that wanted to keep guns from blacks a long time ago. There is always a motive behind gun control laws, but the media does their best to mask some motives.

  • #334

    @j2saret - actually the Dems changed their strategy and accepted any radical special interest group into the fold. The KKK just disintegrated on their own.

    What's wrong with open carry. It's legal. They are exercising their rights. What makes it wrong. NBA should be doen in Texas supporting this group.
