Since the Ferguson protests began, people have speculated about whether gun rights supporters would approve of demonstrators exercising their right to bear arms, as in the Cliven Bundy standoff.
That question will soon be answered, since a gun rights group is now protesting with openly carried long guns in South Dallas.
You can watch the Fox News broadcast on the demonstration, including interviews with the protestors, here:
The protestors are mostly from the Huey P. Newton Gun Club. They say they decided to take advantage of Texas's open carry law to patrol the streets carrying rifles and AR-15s as a way to keep their community safe. They were accompanied by Dallas police in a black SUV, according to Fox News 4."They are trying to protect the community," said Jacey Cofer of Mothers Against Teen Violence. "At the city hall meeting the other day, we got no answers. It's been a bunch of murders, the cops are not being accountable for it, and we want answers."
