They could just dig out and replant the trees and put them back after the parade. They may have deep roots, but with the right construction equipment they could do it.

Yep! I also think that we should keep atleast one of the shuttles 'ready to use' incase something happens and there is no way to help the space station people.

    One word: Helicopter.

A CH-47 Chinook would possibly do the job, but then you could always just borrow one of the Russian's Mi-6s. Or a S-64 Skycrane. We have a couple of those in my town right now. Or even a CH-53 Super Stallion.

But alas, we've been regaled to trucking it. Wish I could be there though...Endeavor deserves a proper, space-enthusiast, send-off. Not a Hollywood extravaganza.

The Mars rovers, satellites, space systems all designed and built in LA. Caltech Jet Propulsion Labs mission control's home is in LA. Internet was invented at UCLA. Do you think we're all actors here? It is a perfect home for Endeavour. Downtown needs a celebrity it can call its own. It would be a shame to cut down trees just for a parade. CSC says they'll double the number. Agreed, the concept of remove and put back is a no-brainer. We'll figure it out somehow, I'm sure no one wants a bittersweet parade for something all Los Angelenos are incredibly awed and excited about.
