Dissarming of the citizens is snubbing the constitution.
We then will have a anarchy , dictator government.

I agree that disarming citizens is always a cause of alarm. But an anarchy dictator? You use these words, but I do not think they mean what you think they mean.

Tighter gun controls also might lead to less tragics killings, where deranged individuals have access to military grade weapons.

@Scargill84 Tighter gun controls is a myth.. There will always be nuts doing killing even if its with military or civilian style guns.

Looks like another case of folks not doing their research - As hostile as Obama's record is toward gun ownership Romney is less than a saint himself - just look to Mass...

It's the same as the last election. Obama won't be changing gun laws to the extent that many Americans fear. I think it's a ploy to increase gun sales.

Fear sells. Besides, who has the highest foreign arms sales? Which country is the most armed in the world? I tend to forget.

Oh good, a second round of over reaction to Obama's (re)election.
The only "crackdown" was Under Bush when we couldn't buy ammo in the earlier days of the war. I own guns. I don't feel threatened by Obama.
    More Tea Party propaganda.

When the goverment wants to disarm its people, its usually not a good sign. All the more reason to vote out obama in November. Cant wait!

You cant touch the second amendment. You cant even stop the sale of full auto. There is NO SUCH THING as gun control in this country. I think you need no more than 3 guns, does that mean i think it should be law? No! At least guns and booze survive a ressesion.

I want you to explain how we can buy fully automatic weapon in the USA without a special waiver from the federal government...which requires special licensing and background check in addition to a special reason to have them.

    @dances-weebles
Because its there? Scwartzenegar movies? Small reproductive units? Sometimes a 4 foot lifted truck doesnt make you feel redneck enough? Paranoia about inner city gangs? Ummmmm zombies? Russians? Skynet? Competition to have a bigger gun than your brother? Thats all i could think of.^_^

@Decent-Dissent Well, as we legit gun owners say, you can regulate us but criminals do not follow regulations...and that includes Eric Holder....ie..Fast and Furious. In any case though, it is illegal to buy or own automatic weapons in the USA without special licensing from the federal government.

The day they take an amendment from us is the day I stop paying taxes. And they still aren't gettin all my guns!!!They can only go so far and taking guns from normal folks is too far. Until dialing 911 stops intruders, murderers, thieves and rapists(not in that order) I'll keep a piece or two handy.

if we do away with guns we are doing away with our freedom to protect our selves from harm.it is plain and simple a fact that a person that is a thieve will pick an unarmed house or person to rob rather than a house or a person that is armed for the one reason is they know if they try to rob an armed person chances are they will be shot and possibly killed.being able to carry and own guns legally cuts crime rates not raise them, the only way guns raise crime rates is when people steal guns and they are then sold to gang members or an irresponsible person that dont discipline their kids gives access to guns when they should be locked up.the sole responsibility of gun safety is in the hands of legal gun owners like me

He knows better than to mess with gun control but what he did his first term is levy higher import taxes and sales of ammunition. He'll keep doing that if he can. I am an avid hunter but I do not understand why hunters need an automatic rifle to hunt with. But I feel that a criminal that gets caught with a weapon should get the death penalty. In Kentucky they get a 30 year sentence only to get out in two-three years and then it's right back into robbing, raping, and killing. Gangs are out of control and there is no law here. We are too liberal and always punish with a knee jerk reaction to those who obey the law. The victims never get a voice, and since the law is so liberal law abiding citizens must arm themselves to protect their property from the trash of society. You don't bring a knife to a gunfight but a Glock 45 will level the playing field.

There is no way of knowing how things might/or might not change. But guns r gonna b bought/ Sold no matter what the government says, no matter how strict the laws. The U.S is so gung ho on killing, they practically glamorize it, today's youth ( a lot of young children) r carrying guns at all times, Americans r taught that u graduate from school- then u go enlist in whichever branch of the service that 5 generations of ur family before you have done. Children r desensitized at a very early age to violence, drugs,& especially weapons. Then u have ur right to bear arms, hunting seasons, guns in the home for protection, there are many legit reasons to have and/or carry a gun at all times. I believe it just comes down to chance, & timing. Plp. R prepared to shoot- just depends on who is quicker on the draw. I think before much longer everyone will tbe carrying. But I don't believe that laws nor man, have any influence on the purchases made.

Do you trust a man, who in 2008 made promises that he turned around and broke in the next three years.

When only cops have guns, it's called a "police state".
Love your country, but never trust its government.
    -- Robert A. Heinlein

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government"
    -- Thomas Jefferson

" the POTUS has every incentive to crack down on firearms"? Yet he has never taken any action to crack down on firearms. But I hope he does. We really need to have stricter enforcement and new laws to control excessive gun ownership.

Obama wins we're in trouble. He will grow the government even more, then disarm the country. Then the government will be in control! Scary.
