By the end of the day this story line will have morphed into the women being labeled "Known prostitutes" not 'presumed". I am not surprized that Politix would run such a topic since it features alleged Republicans with the alleged prostitutes. In a non election year this would be a non starter.

I think the reason why this is a story is because a large part of the GOP's platform rests on the premise that they are the more God/morality leaning party. When it comes out that they are just as prone to chicanery as the dems, it kind of takes the wind out that proverbial sail. I, for one, couldn't care less if they were cavorting with these ladies. But when a party goes all out to prove just how much more "righteous" they are than the other party, this just makes them look hypocritical. After all, we expect this sort of behavior from liberals, don't we ???

@Len_in_NY2 z The liberals are so eager to libel the name of Republicans they use innuendo and hear say and never, but never, check facts. This is about a donor, for crying out loud, not an office holder and there is no proof the women were prostitutes at all. And it's also four years old, correct? Shame on Politix for even publishing the issue.

I just answered the question posed as to WHY it was even a story. One thing I've learned regarding politics is that perception is 99% of reality regardless. This type of stupidity happens on both sides of the aisle. When I found out that the RNC were throwing bashes at Lesbian strip clubs, it made me realize that anything was possible. The GOP were the ones in the proverbial glass house throwing stones ("morality"). The dems, on the other hand like to complain about people's rights while doing their best to eliminate them for our own good. These are perfect examples of why I don't trust any of the republicrats now in power.

Really, Politix, you ought to be ashamed for taking a cheap shot leveled by a thief turned state's witness and treating it as if it were newsworthy or even reliable.

I'm not sure why people are getting bent out of shape over the use of the word "presumed." Politix isn't using the word capriciously in an attempt to cast aspersions; it comes from a direct quote in the Orlando Sentinel story that theey cite:
"I specifically saw a golf cart with young ladies drive by, the extent of why they were there I did not specifically know," [Delmar] Johnson [the state's witness in the the fraud and theft trial of former Florida Republican Chairman Jim Greer] said [in his deposition]. "But I could presume they were prostitutes."

Highlighting potentially salacious but tangential angle is a technique used to draw interest into what would be otherwise a boring (political corruption) story. Should we focus on that angle? Not really, imho. But it got your attention, didn't it?:)

I live words like presumed and likely and alleged. They are so conclusive. They really give the speaker on the subject he is discussing.
