@Mike78 Really? lol Biden dominated Ryan. Just watch the part where he asked Ryan for details on his and Romney's tax plans, or the one where Biden mentioned Ryan asking him for stimulus funding. The look on Ryan's face both times, priceless.
  • #56
@Mike78 Facts like... Ryan's budget that called for the same cuts to Medicare? Or maybe facts like they would do nothing differently about Iran, despite the heavy criticisms from their campaign? Or maybe the fact that Romney, not the administration, was the one to jump all over the Benghazi tragedy for political gain? Or maybe you're talking about the fact that Romney refuses to give any details on how he's going to pay for a 20% tax cut, or maybe that the goal of the 'tax cut' is to keep everybody's tax burden the same which begs the question, why have a tax cut in the first place? You mean those facts?

I'm still trying to figure out why Biden couldn't stop laughing whenever a "nuclear Iran" was the subject.
  • #17
I'm still trying to figure out why both parties are celebrating this debate and the last one, yucking it up about the gaffes and the issues that really don't even come close to measuring up to the one issue that truly affects EVERY citizen in this country. The one that completely strips us of any Liberties we currently enjoy. The National Defense Authorization Act of 2012.
Get back to me when your smiling jackass candidate addresses this issue. Till then America lost the debate tonight and continues to do so every damn night they don't address it.
  • #27
Nuclear Iran? No such thing and won't be for some time, unless you are a scare monger in which case it's "Tremble before the mighty Iran!" But the fact is that Iran is no threat to the US/ Neither is China, North Korea, or anyone else. If you fear Iran you must tremble in terror at the nuclear armed France.

He may have gotten onto obama's stash. Bill Maher said obama must have spent his million dollars on pot.

Lol old loony tune didn't let him talk n host suxed it was 2 aginst 1 lol i no crazy ppl who laugh to them selfs like joe lol lie bout 911 lol joke
  • #37
I thought biden was more bold, but less on real content...just full of the end, there's more to a debate than zeal for your own view. Thought he was flat out untruthful about Obama-care and the catholic church. And he shoot himself in the foot regarding 9/11/12. Ryan was composed, respectful and, i think, honest.
  • #69
@marine1 He made Ryan his B!&$h. He destroyed every one of his arguments and poked holes in all his policies. Romney can't carry himself let alone the entire ticket.

I felt Biden was rude, interrupting Ryan over 80 times. The constant laughter
was unsettling and disrespectful, and once it is played again and again, maybe
even he will see what a buffoon he was...very juvenile and bordering on hysterics. The moderator didn't have control, there was a conflict of interest
and she should not have been considered. That said, Ryan acted professional
and composed and Biden acted like a silly school kid who had just been given
laughing gas. Ryan won the debate.
  • #47
I am amused that the criticism of Biden is he did not treat Ryan with proper respect. Awww!! Did somebody mistreat Princess Ryan? Thats rich.
  • #54
@DABurroughs I don't know how "rich" it was, but Biden sure made an azz out of himself... pretty typical, not surprised.
  • #12
I'm an independent voter, but my vote is Joe walked all over Ryan. I was not impressed with the presidents debate, but this one did impress me. Now I have to weigh the pro's and the con's of each guy to see what I come up with. This should be very interesting!
  • #8
@Franciscomv @Bobolinski You, me and Fish could all call or text in and vote on who won, but if someone like this hit up the hotlines, our votes REALLY wouldn't count:

I've gotta stop and ask: You're ripping-off the system...but how f*****g-magnificently-STUPID have you gotta be to stand there and tell the 6 o'clock news all about it?!?! ROTMFF! I know, I know...we're paying for this travesty...twice over if we have land-lines AND a mobile, and then throw in extra lines for family...but this is just TOO FUNNY to watch. It's really almost worth the price of admission.

I have a feeling that the Christophobes out there are going to be disappointed this Christmas season. I predict that the creches that they love to voice their indignation about will be in short supply this year since Joe Biden did a masterful job of annihilating an army of straw men which obviously will have a dramatic affect on the price of straw for the manger.
  • #15
Why is it that Mittens and his little weight lifting monkey don't want to address the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012?
I thought you assured me that the Tea Party would reign these loons in and keep them centered on real issues.
Well, that right there is issue Número Uno in my book. There is honestly not one other damn issue I want to hear about, being as this is the only one that totally revokes Liberties!!
    I'm very disappointed.
  • #21
Yeah've got to admit that the TP-ers were easily pacified by a moderate-W.A.S.P. and the Boy Scout of Neo-Cons. If you'd have told me then that these guys were the GOP ticket-to-come, I'd have guessed that you guys had split-off to form your own party-that's-not-a-party party. That's why the whole "party-that's-not-a-party " thing just isn't going to get it done. These tyrants are pros when it comes to "divide-and-conquer" tactics, and they reeled you in and busted you up within two years of the mid-terms. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to knock you at all...but are the same people that cried out so loudly in 2010 really satisfied with the resulting ticket?...and before you say, "well anybody that gets Obama out is a hero," don't go there, because he's gotta do something beyond that or we're just essentially trading old manure for a fresh load...
  • #23
@GetAwake and Fishbone- I've given up on anyone who a) votes based on one issue and/or 2) thinks there is any credence to the saying, "both parties are the same." If you can't see the differences even if neither party has a hair up their ass about your pet issue then there is nothing to talk about.

    As for the Tea Party?

@Bobolinsky I don't have a "pet issue" unless you consider the free-will of The People and/or the sanctity of the United States Constitution "pet issues", my friend. As for giving up on those who think that "there is any credence" to that saying, well I certainly hope not. Those people may very well be all that you have left after this election. I guess all of those "Grassroots 'Pubs" that we're holding up signs and disrupting town halls just wanted to see what it felt like to be patriots for a little while, huh? Like riding a roller coaster at Six Flags: Fun for a little while, bit if they did it for too long, they'd spew their steaks all over their shoes.
  • #44
@GetAwake-- What are you talking about Fritz? Do you really think that someone who votes or doesn't vote based on abortion, or drug legalization, or which candidate is most isolationist is the backbone of this country? Horsehockey.

Did you even read the article I linked, or are you just like all the democrats and libercontrarians who can't be bothered with what those "Grassroots 'Pubs" that got a bunch of people elected to Congress that you probably haven't heard of and more are on the way in January.

First of all, can we stop minimizing what Biden did,,he did not "just smale", he did not just interupt a little like in previous debates,(he interupted constantly), and he did not just laugh on an off, he laughed that a hyena. He was acting like a goofball and everyone knows it. Did he debate well aside from it, yes. But it isn't that hard when the moderator lets ya run wild and tag teams the opponent. It was like Ryan was debating two people, not one. That just was not fair,,,and I know how important "fairness" is to the left. Ryan did not get a fair share, fair shake in this debate.
  • #81
Agree, as I said in my post there was a comparison between the acting of Jack Nicholson in "The Shining" and the actions of Joe Biden. He may have fired up his base, and lordy, what does that say about the dems. base, but he turned off a lot of women and independents.
  • #82
@Tralee I think you are right, but that is just opinion, based on the fact that many have said they are sick of the back biting and meaness.
  • #45
Biden reminds me of an inappropriate dementia patient! FRIGHTENING! Ohio for Romney/Ryan 2012!!!!!!!
  • #42
CNN called it a wash, their panel of undecided voters were not moved and several said Biden was rude. For those of you spiking the ball here,,,,being happy about someone winning because they cheated (interupting, moderator being so obviously baised, and telling whoopers) says a lot more about your than Biden, who acted basically like Obama's thug leg breaker. I've always like old Joe, felt there was something weirdly endearing about him. No more. This wasn't even a debate,,IMO. It was allowing Joe to get up their and both he and the moderator chastizing the opposing side,,using lies and rhetoric. It is sad that anyone in this country would settle for that. So spike the ball because in the end,,we all lose.

144 trillion dollars in unfunded liabilities. I think it is time to sit up and start thinking like adults instead of laughing and smirking at people who are trying to bring solutions to the table. Its hard to negotiate when one side only criticizes ideas but wont bring any of their own. obama's only plan is to tax the rich witch only funds the current government for a short period. For the 99% our tax will be inflation. Do want some free stuff or do you want a job?
  • #33
Listen to you libs cry..... There's no details!!! Oh, now you want details???? You weren't concerned when your Shepards told you sheep, you had to pass it to see what was in it?!?!? As for the stimulus money. You'd have to be an idiot not to try to get a little return in what your tax paying constituents have to bay for. Typical hypocrites. Biden was typical as usual. Making excuses, blaming everyone else and not very convincingly unless your one of his sheep!!!!
  • #40
"Oh, now you want details????" Yeah, of course. Sort of a little lesson Americans learned after that whole "weapons of mass destruction" thing.
  • #9
Who Is this Biden, I know Why Obama kept him deeply hid out for the past 3.5 years. He is a poor lost person in need of reality.
  • #80
The best comment I heard about the debate was the comparison between Jack Nicholson in "The Shining" and the demeanor of Joe Biden during the debate. Anyone else acting so manical in public would have been given a sedative.
  • #65
Civility in the face of lies is reserved for the POTUS, not the VP! Paul Ryan spoke for 40 of the 90 minutes during Thursday night’s vice presidential debate and told 24 lies in that same 40 minutes. I do love the FACTS!
  • #73
If you do then you should be able to provide an unbaised source for your factchecking and list Bidens as well. How ridiculous to say Ryan spoke the most. What the heck are you smoking??
  • #77
@Buggsy888 Paul Ryan spoke for 40 of the 90 minutes during Thursday night’s vice presidential debate and managed to tell at least 24 myths [lies] during that time:
1)“It took the president two weeks to acknowledge that [the Libya attack] was a terrorist attack.” Obama used the word “terrorism” to describe the killing of Americans the very next day at the Rose Garden.“No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for,” Obama said in a Rose Garden statement on September 12.
2)“The administration was blocking us every step of the way. Only because we had strong bipartisan support for these tough [Iran] sanctions were we able to overrule their objections and put them in spite of the administration.” Even the Israeli President has effusively praised President Obama’s leadership on getting American and international sanctions on Iran, which have significantly slowed Iran’s progress. More @ ...

    -PolitiFact: ...

    -Fact-checking the vice presidential debate
Ryan, in his closing statement, said Obama "made his choices," including "a government takeover of health care." The phrase is simply not true. "Government takeover" conjures a European approach where the government owns the hospitals and the doctors are public employees. But Obama's health care law relies largely on the free market. We voted "a government takeover of health care" our Lie of the Year for 2010.

@TenFeet2Hands this is called splitting hairs,,our gov. will be in control of their healthcare. And seriously,,Think Progress??????Lying left wing propaganda machine??
  • #79
@Buggsy888 I see you are hell bent on living without FACTS...! So be it, you asked and I answered, now I have a life to live and am running a bit late today. I speak my mind and have since before Eisenhower, so if you do not like what I said don't ask me again.
  • #63
I honestly thought this was the first time Ryan didn't seem to be in control of the situation. He always seems to handle it, but Biden was a little hard to "control". Of course Biden has more miles on him, politically, than Ryan does. I thought both did very well considering how much alike they are. I try so hard not to like Ryan, but hes dangerous in the way you believe what hes telling you, even if he has no idea what hes talking about (or maybe he does!) Hes a very, very clever man and I think he will go far in Politics.
