Those "extremist" are the sole reason no other country has invade and conquered America.

Well, you guys are gonna hold it now. I will be handing out fliers, with directions of where to go, when the Chinese come to collect. They won't be able to be pushed to voicemail because you don't want to talk to debt collectors.

Make sure your check book is out and pen handy.

you must be one of those with your hand out accepting freebies from the govt. so those of us who are still lucky enough to have a job will continue to pay for your freebies. Unfortunately, sooner or later those funds are going to dry out as us makers lose our jobs because of obama's costly programs putting more of a strain on the economy and causing more layoffs. let me know in about 4 years how thats all working out for you.

@1hardcorerepub ok those extremist don't have anything to do with America not being invaded and as for this myth of china owning America is bogus yes it true they own some of America's debt but the people of the America hold most of our debt and then it would be a fatal mistake for china to "collect debt" and invade America if china went to war with America it would crash their economy witch is already unstable as it is and as for their military they out number us in bodies but our hard wear is much better then there's so...chinas not stupid their not going to collect or invade America nor will Russia and republicans are not solely responsible for America not being invaded plus republicans foreign policy's sucks they got Afghanistan and Iraq to show their failed policy's

actually 50 to 48 is pretty much half. so you're" nobody" comment is just foolish.

once we cut off the gift bags and expect people to support themselves we will begin to rebuild this once great nation. until then we will watch the economy get worse and worse. unemployment especially among the black community will stay around 20 percent,..

sooner rather than later the udders will dry up and we will see a rebirth of the American spirit.

@KyleMFb make sure you say all that to the Chinese soldier standing at your front door armed with a Russian made AK-47.

Best of luck and make sure your check book is handy. I don't think he will understand, when he kicks in your door, that you are trying to push him to voicemail.

Nope. I kind of figured Karl Rove was cooking the books. President Obama can't lose and the GOP is ran by fake news, rush limpballs, sean insanity, glen what the heck beck, and bill-o-really? They lack leadership, big time!

Despite not agreeing with their entire platfrom, I became a Libertarian after more than 40 years of being a Republican. The Republican party is no longer the party of Lincoln but the party of the Lunatic Fringe. You people are the American Christian Taliban. No you don't cut off heads. Yet. But you would if you could.

I don't hate Republicans. We need the two party system to balance things out. However, they have to come to realize that these extremists are destroying their party. There are certainly good, level-headed Republicans - and I say this as a lifelong Democrat - but as long as they keep allowing these radicals to represent their party, they'll continue to lose the big elections. United we stand - divided we fall. I never wish for any of my neighbors to fail, regardless of their views or political affiliations.

I hear the left define the right as extreme but what is so extreme about limited federal powers? The Constitution clearly states that those powers not specified in the document will be left to the states. When folks on the right call for limiting Washington's power, as the law dictates, I don't understand the extremism.

Is it the Rights view on abortion? I mean you must understand the intellectual argument that if life begins at conception abortion would be killing. That view doesn't make someone extreme - it makes them sensitive. I say to not err on the side of life is extreme.

@bizaroWorld So they call for limiting federal power in the same breath that they try to empower the encroachment of a womans body? Or how about Rick Perry mandating untested vaccines?
  • #40
    !
@bizaroWorld I don't wanna argue with ya. If you cannot identify the issues in which the party takes extremists view points, that must mean that you are one that is either misinformed, lacking information, or you are completely aware of these viewpoints and agree with them. In any case, I'm tired of arguing why these views are extreme and radical. If your party choses to continue moving in this direction, they'll just continue to lose, that's really all there is to it.

    @Cosmonaut
I wasn't asking you to argue with me, just define for me what you see as extreme. I'd like to try and understand.
I find your answer similar to the way Obama talks down to people. If you don't agree with him, he dismisses you.

    @bck9900
I don't know about the vaccine issue - it doesn't sound like a bright idea but here is what I don't get about the "encroachment on a woman's body."

For years I have heard woman's concerns about other people telling them how to handle their pregnancies. "Keep out of my womb!" Yet now they seem to embrace the governments encroachment on ALL of their health care decisions under The Affordable Care Act. Why would anyone give Washington that kind of power over their health care and their bodies? At least if an insurance company denied your claim you could sue them in court. You can't sue the government if you disagree with their decision.

If, God forbid, you come down with leukemia, and the Feds deny you coverage (or in the President's words, tell you to take a pain pill) what are you going to do then? I don't see how women who voted for Obama have any place complaining in the future about anyone "encroaching on a woman's body."

This election shows how the whites have become minorities. The Mexicans, Muslims and Blacks are leading our country to dictatorship, we will become a weaker country, no true Patriotic Americans, that is the wishes of China and Russia. I hope all you non-americans (those that don't respect, our flag, constitution and non citizens) are happy now, will you be there when your country really needs you? I doubt it, you'll run to Mexico or Canada.
  • #20
    !
Let me correct you Latino's and African Americans are ethnic backgrounds. Muslim is a religion such as Catholic's and Baptist's . You don't have a flag unless you are talking about that dreadful confederate flag that needs to be burned . If you consider yourself a minority than so be it . Get creative and be a productive citizen instead of whinning . You and idiots like you are the reason our country is divided . Move forward ! We are all EQUAL ! So get over it !
  • #27
    !
Is there a problem with whites being minorities? It won't mean you'll be denied you're civil rights. Also Mexicans and Muslims are not "races". A Mexican is somebody who comes from Mexico. Muslims follow Islam which is a religion like Christianity.
I love how you claim that those that disrespect the constitution are "UnAmerican". I would like to point out that discrimating against people because of their skin color or their religion is unconstitutional. YOU are the one that is disrespecting the constitution.
I have no problem with flag burning. Seriously,it's just a piece of cloth.

People like you have become blind, neither candidate was exceptable, but I'm not for another 4 years of what we went thru. Did you serve your country during a war? 5 generations of my family have. Your generation probably fled to Canada or Mexico during war time. There is only one flag I believe in, and that's the American Flag. And don't tell me about being productive, I've served this country and worked all my life paying into the Social Security System. I thank God that I did well for myself, so I can live a quality life during my retirement, but, I feel sorry for my kids and grand kids. China and Russia are drooling.......... I hope your enjoying your tax dollars are paying for Michele's wardrobe and travels. God Bless Us!

Yes, I am surprised we didn't win 'em all. Nah, we did what we needed to do to win and we won. Not surprised. We're changing America, demographically. Put 20 women in congress, one gay, republicans must be pissed. Legalize marihuana in 3 states. Won the senate, btw, we should've won the house too. We are changing America forever.

@RobertJHarsh slow down, we're are not fully there yet, we're making progress but until opportunity is the same for all, and that's what we are working on but understand it, we've made huge progress, no doubt about, the older groups will be gone in 20 yrs and new generations arise, then, we might not need that anymore when we can all get a fair shot.

@MBernard and 20 years after that you'll wish the older group was still around. The change your anticipating will not be for the better.

yes you are EXACTLY right!! you are changing America FOREVER! I am a member of no party, but I can tell you one thing you are 100% right my friend America is changing forever. I am ready for it, I just hope that you are all ready to. Cause if your not ready when Obama's "change" takes effect you will be left in the dark if your lucky.
Everyone in America needs to stand together for what is right, and fair and for what and why this country was built FREEDOM FOR ALL! Because some extremest groups in the past do what they do best take minor things to the extreme our Country is pretty much divided up into "sections" when the "change" comes if we cant put aside our tiny differences aside to stand for what is right this whole country will literary be split up in to sections and if you dont have money you dont have power and you cant have power without money.
thats what this country is running POWER! CONTROL! MONEY! GREED!
and you mark my words it will lead to this country's demise as it will seem to those of us with no money and power. MARK MY WORDS! if i am wrong and this country does not make a dramatic change for what more than 70% of American's will consider the worst within in the next 4 years. Email me I will say I was wrong in whatever manner you please.
REMEMBER WHAT I SAID HERE 4 YEARS OR LESS MORE THAN 70% OF YOU WILL THINK (KNOW) WHERE DID ALL MY RIGHTS GO? I THOUGHT THIS WAS A FREE COUNTRY!

The votes need to be broken down by several factors at a time given the correlation between different demographic variables (e.g., ethnicity and education). Is the relationship between education level and voting Obama, for example, being masked because of lower education levels of ethnic groups that voted for Obama?
  • #51
    !
As one can clearly see from the stats here, President Obama received most of the Christian vote, forever ( we can hope ), dispelling the absurd idea that the Republican Party is the Christian one. Both Catholics and Protestants voted heavily for our President because his values better reflect Christianity than anyone the Republican party can put forward.

I am moderate and believe that neither abortion nor homosexual alliances should be political topics, but rather personal issues. Illicit drugs of all sorts are still banned by the federal governement and likely shall be for decades to come, regardless of whatever changes in America.

The scare tactics about a Chinese invasion are unflounded and juvenile and designed to give political fodder to those who are easily taken in by hyberbole.

I am a little surprised that more Catholics in the exit polls chose Obama even though Paul Ryan claims to be a devout Catholic. Apparently their common beliefs didn't prevent all Catholics from realizing that Romney was no answer to their prayers.
  • #30

I mention this purely for the agitation it should cause among some of our more conservative members: 53% of people in the exit polls blamed the current economic troubles not on President Obama but on former President Bush.

"53% of people in the exit polls blamed the current economic troubles not on President Obama but on former President Bush. "

And they would be wrong. I am not absolving Bush completely. I feel his policies forced the crisis into overdrive, but we were headed for what happened no matter who was in charge. I blame 40 years of bad economic policy form the leadership of both the Right and the Left.

So the lesson is don't rely on college-educated white Protestant men to get you into the White House.

The question, though, is how did the Republican Party, from their candidate on down to the party pros (and particularly Karl Rove) get their information and strategy so completely wrong?

Again you try and look educated when in fact you are not. How much do we spend on entitlements as compared to other developed countries? Now how much do we spend on War and Defense as compared to other countries? Maybe you should change that to America the Terrorist country. This is why repugnents are no longer in office. The body has ways of shutting that down remember?

Did you read the article? It was not a vote for global gun control, it was a vote to renew the debate. Just more useless stuff coming from the UN. Gun Control won't happen. Too many guns out there now and too much money to be made for this to go any further than a bunch of useless diplomats making it look as if they are making a difference.
  • #19
    !
@MRMacrum Yes, I read it, and don't like it either way. Besides, when it comes to the UN, there is no debate, they want a global gun ban, and have for years. Funny how this popped up just after the election huh?
  • #36
    !
@joyshusband - I am not sure we need to worry whether guns are banned in other countries. For that matter I don't think we need to worry about it here. No law is going to make Americans give up their guns. Laws are only useful if they have a chance to work. I honestly think the whole gun control issue is a stupid one. We have more pressing problems to worry about.

And in case anyone thinks I have not been affected by gun violence, well I have. Been robbed once at gunpoint and a very good friend of mine was shot dead back in the 1970s. I think guns are stupid, but I think trying to control them in this country is an even bigger exercise in stupidity.
  • #97
    !
@MRMacrum "Guns are stupid"? One question for you, if you lay a gun on the table, and some bullets beside it, how many people will that gun jump up and shoot? NONE!!! Btw, I do not own guns, I do not hunt, don't shoot guns, but I do respect guns, not the stupid people who commit stupid crimes with them.
