It's very unlikely Sandy had any effect on the election outcome. Despite frequent Romney campaign claims to the contrary, there was no "Mittmentum" going in the days before the storm. As Nate Silver pointed out, the polls simply did not move much after the the first debate for the Governor, and he remained behind President Obama throughout the last weeks of the campaign.

It's unseemly, to my mind, for the losing candidate to spend so much time and effort avoiding responsibility for the outcome of his campaign. Mr Romney is showing himself to be graceless and narcissistic, not the sort of legacy I'm sure he thought he might have left.

Bill Clinton is nothing if not smooth. Call up Romney and tell him it is not his fault that he lost. Factors beyond his control. So what will Romeny them do? They will keep doing the same things that caused them to lose, and down they go again in 2014 and 2016, plus Bill scores a few points with them. It's slick willy leading the hogs to slaughter. Too good!

I was truly braced to be open-minded if Mr. Romney won and decide what I thought about his administration's decisions on a case-by-case basis. But every time he opens his mouth now that the campaign is over, the more glad I am he was not elected.

It's so hard to tell when Gov Romney is taking liberties with the truth. What he said during the campaign is so different from what he tells his big dollar donors in private.

No, but it helped. The president looked very divisive prior to Sandy, but the big problem was that Romney couldn't convince Americans that hard work and toughening up was the way to success... they just wanted to get more checks, and he stood in the way of that.

Malarky. Mr. Romney's plan was to give tax breaks to the rich and put the burden on the faltering middle class. Been there, done that, burned the t-shirt.

@Zazziness Romney pitched trickle-down economics, and his opponent pitched trickle-up poverty. Neither was compelling, but when you rob from Peter to pay Paul, you'll always have the support of Paul. When Paul is nearing 50% of the population, it's a tough sell to pitch self responsibility or anything other than handouts for those who don't have all of their wants met.

@Sonny Very true. Telling a massive portion of the voting block (correctly) that they are not contributing to the country, is a bad idea. Telling people that live off of others that they may have to figure out some other way to get money will never get you votes from those people. Romney's team thought that the majority of Americans are hard working and want the country to return to greatness. They were definitely wrong.

@Hireman NO he incorrectly made such an assertion. And improperly insulted almost half of the American Electorate in the process. They ARE "contributing" just as much as you think you are "contributing"...So both you & that loser romney need to get off of their backs!

Btw, Romney was right. When you're a divisive president like obama and you play class warfare and you give gifts to certain groups, it's easy to buy the election. Romney had an economic message for everyone. He supported true fairness in making sure everyone had a low tax rate, a business friendly environment, and job opportunities. obama wanted none of that for any American. All obama promised was the nanny state will get bigger and it will take care of you. No, the nanny state won't. It'll go broke and you'll be all alone on your own. obama left that out of his campaign speeches.

Also, why did it take until the day after election day for obama to tell the country he fired Petraeus? Why wouldn't obama come clean about Benghazi? Who were those masked crusaders in Maine that mysteriously showed up to vote for obama? The liberal leftist socialist media will never answer these questions.

Good question. A lot of fishy stuff went on during this last election. I'm hearing reports all across the country about ballots disappearing, voter machines in Ohio automatically picking obama even if a person selected Romney, no votes for Romney in Philadelphia or Cleveland, mysterious voters showing up in Maine, etc. It makes you wonder what kind of chicanery obama pulled off during this election. I hope investigations are launched and we get to the bottom this. I take voter fraud very seriously.

@Neo_NtheMatrix While someone in an official capacity should certainly investigate, let's allow these Benghazi-hearings to unfold first.

Even Bill Clinton wanted to rid the nation of the scourge that took up residence in the White House. I'm just going to sit back and watch all the liberals try to spin this one. Should be entertaining.

Of course Clinton did. That's why he spent so much time campaigning for Obama. Just a smokescreen I guess. Holy Cow you people are reaching for the stars.

@RobertJHarsh why would we believe you ?..your the same guys that said Obama's time in the white house is up...It's amazing that the religious right is blaming Obama's win on an act of God!! How Ironic!!

Romney is still living in his little bubble with his other tea party losers. He lost the election because no one bought what he was selling. He found something his money could not buy.I think it's time for him to STOP running for president! Hehe

I agree with Romney, it was Sandy, and Mary, Betty, Dixie, Susan, Wilma, Beyonce, and Carmen along with the rest of independent women that kept him thankfully out of the White House. I guess his binders full of women was empty.

No, he lost the elections because he is a racist pathological flip flop who pays less taxes than all of us in this forum and has all his money in Swiss account to evade taxes. The guy is just a joke

It makes me pause and wonder why all these politicians who hate each other so much have each other on speed dial ???? I thinks there must be a conspiracy. Just a theory.
