@jessejaymes so... you believe that the only reason that people want to take their clothes off is so that people'll look at them? how odd.

tell me something... why do you look?

@dances-weebles Because I didn't get any prior warning that some fat slob with obviously sexual issues and lack of self control was going to appear naked in my view?

Holy Chicago and the Pope. If that guy is not a reason to ban public nudity I don't know what would be. I'm touch typing at the moment because I've gone blind. Please excuse any errors.

People like the one in the picture is why I take a packet of sanitary wipes with me when I go to San Francisco. No public restaurant chair or park bench is safe. Eeeww!

@Denizen_Kate You know if no other reason (and there are other reasons) I wouldn't want my granddaughter seeing that because I don't want here thinking that kind of obesity is normal.

I believe our culture would be a lot less sexually charged if nudity wasn't such a forbidden fruit. If children were exposed to anatomy at an earlier age, they might not grow up relating nudity and provocative clothing to sex.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with nudity. I walk from the shower to my bedroom nude and I have two teenagers a son and a daughter they think nothing of it. I asked my son a few years ago if it bother him he said no I wanted to make sure it wasn't embarrassing him. If you want to go clothes free in your home that's your business and we should teach our children to be comfortable in their bodies, but to parade around downtown with no clothes on should be and is illegal.

@classychazy You try that little stunt in front of your children's friends and see how quickly you're calling home for bail money. There is a HUGE difference in what people do in the privacy of their homes or even on a posted nude area like a beach and what they do on the public sidewalks. I can't believe this even has defenders other than the criminally insane.

@jessejaymes. I would never walk in front of one my children's friends. I would be going to jail if one of their friends parents did that. I kinds see your side about it being perverted. I'm not a prude, but if you are walking around in public where there are other people and children you should be arrested. In my community he wouldn't make it to jail, before someone would put a hurting on him first.

@classychazy Exactly. While you have one set of standards in your own home with your own family you don't presume to force that standard on others. Exactly my point. I don't have a problem with what you do in your own home. I don't have a problem with clearly marked nude beaches. I've been to a few (just research you understand) but this whole notion that somehow nudity is more "healthful" in public is hogwash. The elements say otherwise. And it's just flat out perverted to expose children to this on our public sidewalks, malls and so on.

There needn't be a ban on public nudity, just a little consideration and common sense. There is a time and place for everything. Gardening nude in your own back yard, good. The naked bike ride, fun. Appearing in a public forum naked long after your penis has disappeared into your belly, not so attractive.
But I support the freedom to be nude in public.

the gay lobby will be all over this because of their decadent parades and gay bondage festivals they enjoy.
this is not nearly about nudity. it's about attacking every corner of society until it breaks down.

I hate to be the only one to ask this, but is that a woman in the back with her breast blacked out? If so she needs to get some implants cause those are misquote bites not breast!

Don't really understand the nude in public thing. No one is forcing them to put clothes on in their home.
Those that generally desire to be nude, shouldn't.

i didn't think that nudists wanted to take off their clothes simply to be your eye candy. it doesn't matter what they look like it's their body and if they prefer to be healthier, then god bless them. (btw... yes, it's healthier to go without clothes)

Nothing healthy about sexually deviate people, including pedophiles being allowed to expose themselves to children without any parental decision making in this happening.

It's also healthier to not be obese, a condition that the American Medical Association calls the number one preventable killer in the USA and further state that 95% of obesity is caused by lack of exercise, poor eating habits and junk food. So any heath gains the obese may get from stripping down is far more than offset by their obesity.

@jessejaymes haven't we already discussed how silly this argument is? how do you know that every nudist is a 'sexual deviate'? what makes you think that 'pedophiles' are interested in taking their clothes off in front of anybody at all?

of course you realise that the highest majority of pedophile acts are perpetrated by close family members, right?

@dances-weebles Doesn't matter the Percentages (which you can't prove to be low any more than I can prove to be hight). It matters than people have a right to not be subjected to the sexual deviancy of others in public places.

I suspect he isn't interested in your opinion of his looks. Nudism isn't about vanity or exhibitionism. Now trot out your picture so we can point out your physical flaws.

@cpeter133 LOL...can't, they'd delete...it's far too beautiful for just the average person to view. I'ts only to be seen by the best...my husband. I have no flaws, as hard as that is to believe...

@cpeter133 Also, it's common courtesy. I have been behind people in Wal*Mart who smelled so bad I almost gagged. It would have been courteous for them to bathe, but they didn't . Why should others have to plug their noses and put blind folds on to be in public? Go naked, stink, whatever...just do it behind closed doors !!!

@mimi57 Nudists tend to have excellent hygiene; also, clothes absorb odors that would otherwise dissipate into the air.
