Who cares what ashley judd's views are? Shes just another clueless starlet. I'm not a fan but at least she is tolerable when she is trying to entertain instead of acting like she knows what she is talking about. Ky loves Rand Paul!

In my opinion, NO she is not too liberal for MY Kentucky. All of these old republican idiots are hopefully on the way out. We need someone that is looking at the future. All we have now are men who want things their way and are not willing to comprimise on anything! I say let's give her a shot. I don't think she can be worse than what we have and I really think she will do what's best for Kentucky, not just for herself!

Yes, Rand the man is right. I am not a fan of Mitch bit it would be ludicrous to put Ashley Judd in office. I hope someone will stand up and challenge Mitch in the primary. I will definitely vote for Rand again, but only once more.

Give me a BIG Hell Yeah!!! So many times people come into the Appalachians thinking that we are soo stupid! That all we need is some smart talker or attractive face to convince us that coal is BAD! News Flash we already know that. We deal with the effects of it every day. What nobody seems to understand is that without it... we starve to death, we can't heat our homes because if we don't use coal as a primary heat source, then the power plants around us use it to produce our energy. The sources of job creation that were brought in during the 1980's to try and wean us from coal dependency (mediocre paying factorynjobs) now have gone overseas.
Three years ago a multi-million dollar "clean energy" power plant was built literally in my back yard(four miles away). There was no local input as to whether we wanted it to belch smoke into our atmosphere or poison our streams. Within weeks of announcement of its existance, construction was started.
Oh, don't feel sorry for us the lose of our air qualityand the destruction of the most bio-diverse river in the eastern United States (the Clinch River). We were promised not only construction jobs but the resurgence of the coal industry. Hundreds of well paying jobs that would not only employ those who were underemployed but enough jobs to keek our children from leaving to seek jobs that would pay a living wage.
It was only when the high density/tension power lines started being constructed that we learned that Southwest Virginia wouldn't be the receipants of the power but instead Norfolk, VA and the state of New York that would be the beneficients of our minerals.
Needless to say the jobs didn't come from local labor either, they mostly come from all places New Orleans and Texas.
The last kick in the ass came when we discovered that despite promises the coal plant would ONLY use Virginia coal, it turns out that Ohio coal or Kentucky coal, or bitumunious coal from anywhere that sits on Virginia soil long enough (6months) becomes Virginia coal.
Thanks but no thanks Ashley Judd, we have enough of our own screwing us without your help!

I agree anyone that opposed both Iraq and the Afghanistan wars are kooks. After all they were probably the biggest decisions that Washington has made in the last 10 years, deciding to send out troops into harms way. And these wars served us so well and accomplished our objectives and has made us a safer nation and all with money borrowed from China. What a great policy. Frankly I think the kooks are the ones that supported these wars.

@IMAQT You're being sarcastic I hope. Invading Iraq was one of the most foolish things the US has ever done. The justification for the invasion was a lie. Thousands of Americans killed and wounded for no reason at all, then add in the financial expense, and now the millions of Iraqi orphans that will grow up hating the US. Iraq never posed a threat to the US and the country had no right to invade.
Afghanistan was another debacle. The US did not need to send in so many troops to dismantle Al-Qaeda and catch Bin Laden. And now the military-industrial complex is keeping us there even longer for more war profiteering (which is the real reason we invaded Iraq as well).
Both wars, especially in scale and duration, were about money, not the safety of the country or pursuit of fugitives.

Is Judd too Liberal for Kentucky? Who knows? Let her run and find out. She would certainly be pleasant visual change from Sen. "Sour puss" McConnell. It would be kinda cool to see her standing in the Senate and knowing I have seen her boobs. BTW, they are nice ones IMO.

That was a very sexist comment, especially considering you didn't even supply a link to support your assertions.

@PNWest - Yes it was indeed a very very sexist comment. Guilty as charged. Can't help it if I enjoy a nice female physique. There was a movie "Bug". It was about a Vet who was slowly going crazy and the relationship he enters into with Ashley who plays a waitress trying to get her life back on track. Excellent movie BTW. Even with the sex scenes censored. But if you catch on the IFC channel, nothing is censored.

@MRMacrum Hate to burst your bubble but at the end of the movie bug in the credits there is credit for "Body double" for Ashley Judd. Nice ones but not hers.

If she cared about the people of KY she could be living there right now, doing what she can to aid the local economy without running for office. She has gobs of money she could be spreading around, helping people to train for better jobs etc. She lives in Scotland instead.

She and her husband have a home in Scotland, which is logical as that's where he's from, but they don't live there year round, since he works here in the U.S. I think their primary place of residence is in Tennessee.

A rich actress with a race car driver husband who lives in Scotland; yeah, the people of KY are going to believe she can identify with and care about them. Geez.

She is from Kentucky! She was not rich when she lived here as a child and knows how hard things can be....unlike McConnell who has forgotten what and for whom he is working for!!

@Yvonne I hate to say you are wrong but the Judd's were pretty well off by the time they moved back here from California. Daddy Judd owned a well to do gas station on the main drag in town, Polly Judd worked at Pollack Jewelry and did a stint on the city council. Please do not feed that crap to the dumb masses that are star struck and may not know better.

She is actually one of my personal favourite actresses, but there is no way I would want any feminist zealot calling the shots. They have already damaged society beyond repair.
