Frankly the issue of gay marriage is probably number 9,000 in my most important issues facing this country today. When it come to issues involving freedom, I side with freedom. A serious question for those that oppose gay marriages: If two gay people are married, how does that cause any harm to me or others? If you can show it does cause harm, I may very well side with you, but if you can't, then why are you against what other people do, given the fact they cause no harm to you?

Those used to be my words too, but I strongly believe that the politics are beside the point. If you want to get married, then have the ceremony & the symbol of marriage. Nobody said you couldn't get married. But the way we do things in America doesn't have to change just because you want tax benefits. Equality marriage isn't the issue.
They are trying to change America as if it would change the perception. But yes, one day it will be so common that it will inevitably become standard. Whine enough... Dontcha know?

@tommyhndl Actually a lot of people have said they couldn't get married. And the way we do things in America should change because these are American citizens being denied equal rights not only to marriage and taxation but myriad other rights that most of us take for granted from insurance, child custody, inheritance and property rights etc.

Then why has nature itself continually made homosexual people? Seems like nature is pretty cool with the idea....

@Ashstop The bible is one of the worst moral guides ever printed, and it is full of proven wrong myths. Why would anyone follow it?

Get government out of the bedroom and personal lives! Everyone should boycott "legalized marriages" no matter their orientation/preferences! Marriage should be between the consenting parties, and perhaps their religion, if the consenting couple/people even want religion involved. NO ONE ELSE'S BUSINESS, especially not the government's.

I see here is the daily Topix column promoting the Gay agenda. YAWN. Nothing about kids being forced into prostitution or going to bed hungry. Nothing about the number of people incarcerated for non violent crime in the USA. Nothing about the impact of the Mexican Cartels on tourism in Mexico or the impact of smuggling on the landowners of the Border states. Nothing about who in Congress are the biggest pork barrels spenders attaching riders to unrelated bills to sneak their spending by the American people so we can actually make a decision of who to get rid of. But EVERY day there is the Gay agenda column. It really is getting to the point that you are turning otherwise ambivalent people against the gay community. They're only 10% of the population at most Politix. HELLO? There are a whole bunch of things that the rest of us out here would like to know about some of those "other things" also.

@woodtick57 I understand that to the extremist liberal that there is no greater issue in the world than the legislating of the American citizen mind to believe that gay people are the most important thing in America today and we all are required to renounce any religion or person beliefs or thoughts and worship at the crotch of gay America. I do understand that. I just won't do it.

@woodtick57 yeah I'm sick of hearing it. You bet. I never once shared my sexual needs, orientation or exploits with another publicly and I really am tired of the gay never ending whining, sniveling, exhibitionism, flaunting, taunting, swishing, prancing and demanding to be the center of attention ALL THE TIME. Guilty.

Why shouldn't they? If we are ALL granted by our creator with enalienable rights to life, liberty and the persuit of happiness, and that is what ALL Americans should have. Don't bother to bring religion into it because several of our founding fathers weren't at all religious. AND they, not the fundamentilist right or anyone else , developed the standards by which ALL Americans are goverened.
I was married in a church (Saint Marks Episcopal) and between the charging of the audience, the prayers and communion the marriage ceremony took over an hour. I was baptised in that church and all four of my children were christened and two have choosen to be baptised in that church as well. That being said Gay Marriage doesn't take anything away from me. Giving gay couples the rights that I have is what this country was founded on The Right that if you obey our Laws and pay your Taxes, You won't be descriminated against.

The supreme court should rule same sex marriage as constitutional. And it is because of the 14th amendment "The equal protection under law clause". Marriage is nothing more then a legal binding contract.. it does not matter if you get married in a church or a court house the state has to verify the marriage with a license so there is state involvement. And you can not stop the state from being involvement because the marriage license would not be valid. So as long as you have state involvement with regulating marriage licenses and making the legal binding contract for the marriage then there can be no discrimination. And for those who wanna say civil unions are separate but equal.. well remember the last time was had something separate but equal and how it was a failure? Just keep all of this in mind before you make your decision. But to deny someone's right to pursue happiness is not just unconstitutional but it's just morally wrong and lacks empathy.

OH MY SELF, WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOCIETY?iF YOU WANNA BE A HOMOSEXUAL THEN BE ONE BUT PLEASE QUIT TELLING THE WORLD ABOUT IT. DAMN WE ARE TIRED OF LISTENING TO YOUR CRY BABY STORY. we DONT HAVE TO EXCEPT IT IF WE DO NOT BELIEVE ITS RIGHT, NO MATTER WHAT THE gov. SAYS YOU IDIOTS.Stop trying to force your twisted sex ual beliefs on everyone. Fact is they should examine every homosexual for mental illness because according to all doctors mental illness is involved with homosexuality. and most take mind altering drugs prescribed/and not prescribed for mental issues.

THE SCOTUS should send it back to the states. The SCOTUS should not make policy, that is the legislature's job. By the way, I oppose Hommo marriage.
