Get rid of the failed two-party (R) and (D) system. Starting bringing in more Independents and Libertarians, that way meaningful debate can be had from all areas of the political spectrum. Too many false promises made by both sides of CONgress...

@AceLuby Technically it isn't really "two party" but we have too many brainwashed masses out there that will solely vote based on the little (R) or (D) after someone's name, most of the time not even doing any research on who they vote for. I tend to vote the NRA Ticket (Not the National Rifle Association but Never Reelect Anyone).

@AceLuby the constitution sets fourth the person with modt electoral votes is prez, next highest vote count ix vp. That usually meant the two who opposed each other both got elected. The prez ran the exec branch, but as prez of senate the vp could stir up quiet a fuss in the legislative branch. The arrangement forced compromise, or secret plotting, both really, but on tough issues nothing would happen without compromise, i am not when they started running on two person tickets, but the intent pf the framers did not last long. Was discussing it on another threat with someone rlse last week. Would love more info on this...

Most people have to much pride to leave their diseased party. Which is sad when the libertarian party can only get stronger.

@Fitz - I went in the website isidewith.com and took this little questionnaire and it fits the best presidential candidate you should vote for. everyone in my family took it a total of 13 people, all wanted to vote for Romney prior to taking the questionnaire. All 13 most closely agreed with Gary Johnson, and they still voted for Romney....ignorance I tell you.

I think all politicians are committing suicide. We, The People just need to assist them by hooking up our "Kevorkian" machine. Step up, one and all.....buy one get one free!

Let's demand all politicians take pay cuts I am a diabled veteran who has a family to support. I depend on my ssi income as well as my VA. I defended my country....so what for my dedication and loyalty will I get in return? my only means of income slashed? These pinheads we have running our country into the ground getting are six figure incomes there is absolutely no reason for them to make that much money and for elderly & the disabled left to suffer and hope to god we can pay or bills & rent. I call bullshit!!!!!!!!!!

Going over the "Cliff" is a far better idea than cutting SocSec. In the long run a recession would be less harmful to American. The proposed plan " _IS_ " a SocSec cut. That is unacceptable behavior. We need to be talking increase not decrease. Those who need our help are to be cut? John Boner is purposely wasting our time and money.

Deeper cuts the older the person is? My Lord...how are they supposed to live if they don't have other means of income at 85 years old? What's the next step Obama and Boehner...just pass out the cyanide? Maybe we should just get rid of most in Congress and executive administration...if they pass something like this (or do it by executive order) we WILL need that 2nd amendment militia.

you're not too far off. the Socialist Party in Belgium this week put forth a bill to allow more people to get the right from the government to kill themselves... including Alzheimer's patients and minor children.
this is the party and the people and the thinking behind people like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton... behind Moa tse tung.. and the thinking of Obama's and Hillary's mentor Saul Alinsky.

they assume anyone who's 85 has live their life .. time to move along.

@bsking The socialist party in Beligium is like the socialist party here... a party that has exactly zero national representation. If you think Democrats are 'socialist' you need to do some studying.

wonder when people are going to figure out at America's eventually going to default on the national debt and declare bankruptcy there's absolutely no way to pay off the debt . there is absolutely no way to pay off that much interest . we will not be the first country to do so and all the rest of this nonsense about the budget is just posturing while we delay the inevitable .

Five hundred fifty ($550,000,000,000.00) billion dollars a year, on average. That's just the interest!! And that's if everything goes right!!

No possible way The obama lied to them...... That's not possible..... His Majesty wasn't truthful?

I wonder why he would do such a thing? Could it be that he just likes being da' prez? Free golf and shit like that.

Hey obamacrats..... WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD..... Sorta sucks to have your first time be with someone like him huh? Oh well.... next time you'll lay off the Kool Aid.

It's called compromise; a word unknown in the far left liberal lexicon. Obama is finally doing what should have been 4 years ago.

Obama is just repeating the same tepid half measures he did 4 years ago to reach out to the repubs, which is why we got a mitt romney style health care instead of single payer or at least a public option... not a li

This is dumb, they need to do means testing. Just goes to show you you can't trust either party to do the right thing. There are plenty of cuts they could do in the government largess from dept. A to Z. Cut medicare first, revamp the prescription drug plan. Go with vouchers. Look up the "Citizens Against Government Waste" site.

Why are Democrats so surprised by Oblunder's plan? Didn't they know what they were voting for on Nov 6, 2012? I did. And you're soon to get everything you voted for. Won't that be fun?

Seniors who have listened to their doctors, taken good care of themselves, and managed to live longer are being severely punished. I thought we were supposed to look forward to our "golden years" but this seems to be turning that gold into lead.
