He apparently didn't mean to compare gun owners to child molesters - ya know, not really - but it sure is easy to get that impression.
Former Democratic candidate for New York City mayor Mark Green told the viewers of MNSBC Thursday that there ought to be gun registries akin to those created by Megan's law(s) across the country, which track where sex offenders are living so nearby residents are aware of their presence.
"If we have a Megan's Law - " because I think almost everyone might agree - " that if you're a convicted child molester, a neighbor might want to know that because they're in your home, safe, but maybe they could hurt someone else," said Green on "Hardball" with guest host Michael Smerconish. "Same thing with guns."
that Smerconish forced Green to clarify his remarks, to make "clear that he was in no way equating lawful gun owners with convicted child molesters."
