The Constitution not only guarantees an individual right to bear arms, but also enshrines the freedom of speech and the freedom of the press - fundamental principles that are essential to our democracy. Americans may disagree on matters of public policy and express those disagreements vigorously, but no one should be punished by the government simply because he or she expressed a view on the Second Amendment - or any other matter of public concern.This is of course music to the ears of CNN's Morgan, who tweeted, "President Obama has officially decided I am NOT being deported." But is the case for Morgan so cut and dry? Wall Street Journal contributor James Taranto weighed in last month with the view that while Morgan's opinion is protected, "his presence is not," and cited a 1972 Supreme Court ruling upholding the Nixon administration's decision to deny a left-wing Belgian journalist a temporary visa.
