I find it more amusing the people somehow think their religion is superior and more credible. That somehow tribesmen that provided them a religion to follow is more credible than L. Ron Hubbard. Old school rubbish or new school rubbish either way its all rubbish.

"Would you support a Scientologist running for president?"
Politix, You have to be more specific with your questions! Of course I answered "No" because you made it sound like I would be supporting him just because he is a Scientologist, which I would never do! That would be as idiotic as to vote for Barack Obama because he's black, and I'm sure nobody would do that! The question should be
"Would you support a Scientologist running for president in your party?"
I'll admit that my question isn't that great, but it beats yours by a long shot!!

Politix is good at baited questions, aren't they? I'm not answering. It should be "would you support Cruise for president," not a Scientologist in general, of which there probably are some normal ones. Tommy boy is just few fries short of a Happy Meal in my book.

@methinks No. In order to believe in what Scientology wants you to believe, you first have to leave normal behind.(Then you have to get out your checkbook.) Hubbard *said* he was creating a religion for the profit of it. What does it take for a person to then follow that religion as good life advice?

@Denizen_Kate They are obviously slanted and that's why I won't vote on some of them. Maybe the Politix staffers need to be trained by real pollsters.

i see a 25% to 75% vote for this one so far. I read the comments and most of them are about tom cruise for president. Unfortunately the question has little to do with his and a lot to do with whether or not your would vote for someone who is a Scientology. I would, I am an atheist, so his religion is not more ridiculous to me than Christianity is.

They all started off as cults. Christianity was considered a cult until Constantine legitimized it. It all depends on how you define the myth and those who follow the mythology.

Hate to burst your bubble Tommie boy, but America would sooner elect an Atheist, than a whacko scientologist.

why should religion matter? you liberals hate God, you liberals have a closet muslim in the white house, so why wouldn't you elect someone that tries to disprove a higher power everyday? you libs should love it!!!!!!

I woiuldn't vote for a scientologist any more than I would an evangelical christian or a mormon, or any other sect that outright denies science and whose main tenet is proseltyzing.

Don't forget Rick Santorum, Herman Cain, Sarah Palin, Joe Walsh, Richard Mourdock, Todd Akin and Rick Perry. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

I would not necessarily rule out supporting anyone for president based on their belief or lack of belief in one religion or another as long as they have demonstrated an ability to separate it as much as possible from their political decisions.

The Church of Scientology is among the most evil organizations on Earth. They have a secret police just like the Nazis did during their evil reign of terror. The Seas Program are a group of today's SS Nazis or more like The Nazi Gestapo.
