There's politics making for strange bedfellows, and then there's this.
A group of Satanists plan
to rally in support of Florida Governor Rick Scott's recent signing off on Senate Bill 98, which grants public school boards the right to allow student prayer at school-led events. The rallying of the alternatively-faithful will take place on January 25th in front of Governor Scott's Tallahassee office.
"We feel it's time for Satanists to come out and say exactly who we are," said Lucien Greaves, a spokesman for the southern Florida region's Satanic Temple, a "more or less an online community" according to Greaves.
"The name Satan resonates with a lot of people," assured Greaves, who claims Satanists believe Satan to be just as compassionate as others believe their God to be.
