Warren and Howard Buffet, Oprah, J.K. Rowling, Bill and Melinda Gates, the founders of eBay, Richard Branson, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Robert deNiro, Brad Pitt, Jimmy Carter, Magic Johnson... just off the top of my head...

Here's a list of good rich people who donate loads of cash to charity. I think liberals pretty well like them. Could be wrong, though. ;)

In that one respect at least, the rich are like the rest of us.
Some are nice people, and some are jerks.
If a person, liberal or a conservative, doesn't get that then he
    doesn't get human nature.

Downton Abbey is one of the best broadcast I have witnessed lately. Thanks PBS for providing it. Decent people love it. Ignorant idoits have no time for it!!!

This type of programming is prevalent on TV. Even in the old days. Remember the super-enlightened, benevolent, justice-seeking folks of "Bonanza", "The Big Valley", etc. Those of us who live in the West and know its history, particularly the history of Lincoln County, New Mexico, know the truth. And "it ain't pretty". It's like Hollywood is acting like the drones at George Orwell's "1984" Ministry of Truth. Vaporizing the truth and manufacturing what they want the public to think The same goes for Doctors and Lawyers on TV, who have a formidable PR machine in Hollywood writers. We all know that there are EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE, but as a class, most doctors and lawyers in the private sectors have only three concerns: Paying off their student loans quickly; maximizing their profits and time on the gold links while minimizing their time with patients.

I was raised (far from Downton Abbey) that there was no quicker way to look low class than to treat someone poor or in a subservient position as if they were beneath you. Only the nouveaux richehe (fair or not=liberal) in their jealousy of old money project the misconception that the truly rich look down and mistreat their servants. Obviously there are good and bad of examples all people but if you have things that need protection, i.e. possessions and secrets, you will treat your servants in your employ with fair wages and respect. Old money keeps their money that's why it's old.

So instead of covering the inauguration and MLK Jr. Day celebrations, Fox is still pounding that dead horse delusion of theirs that liberals hate rich people? smh ...

I just realize I get PBS. For real, there is this Sprout channel but I thought I paid extra for that for the kids. Also, I never heard of this show. I guess I have to check it out now. Fox wants me to watch it? Maybe they like but they are saying they hate it so people will watch it.

If you have gold toilets in your house, hundred million dollar trust funds for each of your 5 kids and car elevators are common in your neighborhood…… and you still complain about minimum wage rights and poor people getting to see a doctor .....well then I still need some convincing.

The current left-think is that all wealthy, unless they are Hollywood stars or Democrat supporters, are base and evil who stole their wealth from one of the left's series of convenient victims. No wealthy person of conservative bent can be trusted, is nice, likes people or wants the best for all, according to the left. Reality is that most wealthy people worked damm hard to get wealthy, they studied hard, got higher education as needed and paid their dues in the work place to advance and become "wealthy", they took advantage of the equal opportunity offered all but, unlike liberals, they believe in equal OPPORTUNITY not equal outcome. Equal outcome is impossible to achieve and is a pipe dream of the naive and child like. The man with an IQ of 60 will never, ever, not in his lifetime, become a lawyer, doctor or even an accountant, just not going to happen, same with the drug addict, the person who quit school at the earliest opportunity and the just plain lazy. Success is earned, success is NOT something to be denigrated, not in the real world. And, the successful appreciate those who work for them, doing what they cannot do.

A show I've never seen being critiqued by a show I refuse to watch. Perhaps now would be a good time to pretend I never posted. Jeez Louise what is this? National; nitpicking day?

Of course there are some decent rich people and some of them treat their employees well. Even some of the rich who don't treat their employees the way they should are decent people who have fallen into the trap of believing that it is right to give the employees the bare minimum so that they can give more to the stockholders.

Red Wings are on tonight but I will try to remember to watch. Can't imagine ever feeling that the shareholders should be valued over the people who do the actual work.
