These stupid young people don't know what America was like before Roe v Wade when women died and bleed to death because botched abortions.

Stupid is a harsh word. We'll call them naive young adults. It has nothing to do with pre-roe v wade era United States of America either. Their naivety stems from the misguided belief either party plans to overturn it ever. They've only had the carrot dangling in front of them for a short time. It's understandable. Abortion rights are a GOP sacred cow. They've been pulling that thing out every four years for the last 40 years. If they overturn it now what will they have to run on the next election? Their voting record? Pshh, silly, naive, misguided children, when will they learn? Hopefully faster than their parents who've been following that carrot for 40 years. Now that bunch it's more than fair to call stupid.

So the churches turned out the kids. Not going to happen. And the churches should stop using children as human shields for fund raising.

Isn't this what it's about, children? If we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?

We don't. we support state sponsored murder all the time..we have since this country was founded...

@hwyangel Then let's cut surgical abortions by demanding over the counter sales of the morning after pill. Write your congress person please.

You don't see a difference between a murder and a baby? Not that I personally support capital punishment even for Hitler. But punishment without trial does not equal justice.

If you want to make lifelong relationships, visit a protest at a Planned Parenthood office. Start at one end of the line and ask each protester how many kids they've adopted. If they say "none," ask why they are only committed enough to wave a sign but not enough to materially help a child.

I guarantee you'll have your very own Hate Club that will last the rest of your life.

The younger set I know is staunchly pro-choice, loaded to the gills with condoms and morning-after pills. Fairly responsible, I must say.

I have a smart assed daughter who asks me if I have morning after pills in case I "get lucky". I ask why she cares? She says she's splitting her inheritance as many ways already as she cares to split it and maybe the woman would forget hers..
  • #36

Not really "responsible"...they just know how to play the game. Sort of like speeding. You can do it and not get caught...just get yourself a really good radar detector.

The people who support gun laws in protecting people, especially children. Yet, many are pro-choice which support what Adam Lanza did, "Murder". Adam Lanza murdered children at Sandy Hook as Abortion Clinics' Doctor Murder Babies. Gun Laws keep being created! How about the ban on abortion?

@Vance1 a republican politician very recently told the truth of sorts about the reason behind pro-life and even immigration. The country's is getting old with low birth rates. This doesn't coincide with the small numbers of abortions relative to birth rates. As a man, I don't deserve a say on what a woman chooses and that isn't my point. The republican admitted that immigration was needed to take care of the older generation. If I was Hispanic, I would take great offense for sole excuse he used for immigration.

Europe is facing the same aging problem and most countries don't have people trying to sneak in. The U.S. is still a land of opportunity and he is right about needing more people due to low birth rates. Republicans are about white men and conserving their power. As racist as that sounds, I don't think republicans in general are racists. The stopping of legal abortion is primarily for increasing the dwindling white race and keeping the worker bees paying for old people. It is my hope that ACA and increased access to birth control will stop the need for abortions. Republicans as a party are pro-life for the wrong reasons. This
DDemographic shift wasn't a reality until the late 80s and if you paid attention, when bush41, changed to pro-life, the fractures started within the country. Bush sr was backed by powerful NH family with a 100 year republican background who became democrats because this shift happened.

@ConserveUSA You are right about black children. Native Americans are small in number and that is something I have not seen. Look at the reason violence against women didn't pass for understanding about that culture which includes law enforcement of their reservations. Latinos are the fastest growing group and they have a higher birth rates. You have to look at their culture and especially being catholic rather than protestant. White births are flat. Black births are up 1% and hispanics are still up. The declining rates were more recession driven recently. Republicans can't make abortion an issue under the banner of white babies. This proves the point of why they want to ban abortion. Universal law would cover the people of their base. I am a white male near 40, so I am not blind to this. State republicans are regulating abortion clinics to
Near zero. 4 red states are down to one with I think MS may be the first to close their only one down by making it impossible through legislation to operate. NM was trying to make abortion after rape a crime for the victim (this week) Before abortion was legal, the death rates of women dying from still trying was really bad. If abortion becomes illegal again (which I doubt) white people will still find a way with money. I want to repeat that the majority of republicans which at one point was me are not racist. Reagan would not be electable in today's age and I admired him without fully understanding how bad trickle down would be. Since the conservative movement is now mostly deep south religious and if they continue to get rid of clinics in the south, the white people who can drive to another state will find a way to get this service and the only race affected would be the poor black neighborhoods. I don't want the Republican party to die as we need two parties to function.

My mother was raped while pregnant with me, in Hawaii. The doctors told her to have an abortion because I would have severe deformities. I don't have a single deformity, some just want to abort in every situation. I believe it was my mothers right to choose and I like her choice. Women should still have the right to choose one choice is right one is wrong. Women's reproductive rights? That means they have the right to reproduce not live loose then slaughter call it what it is. This is the most important issue to people that believe in animals rights above humans, people that say the gay life style is normal and people that hate GOD. Make your choice and tell GOD why He 's wrong when you stand before Him.

"My mother was raped while pregnant with me, in Hawaii. The doctors told her to have an abortion because I would have severe deformities"

Gonna have to call BS on this. In 35 years of nursing I have never heard of a birth defect caused by sexual intercourse during the pregnancy.
  • #82
    !
@DARSB yes we'll my mother was thinking the same thing that the doctor was wrong, so she went ahead and had me 2 1/2 months premature. By the way how did you go from rape to sexual intercourse ? The two are very different one is brutal and against the woman's consent the other is mutual and no physical abuse involved. So being a 35 year experienced nurse you know that less than .00085 of 1% get pregnant from a rape therefore rendering that hypothetical argument ridiculous. Never argue a hypothetical situation. My family has always been there for unwed mothers considering having the baby and so does my church. I am not married and have never impregnated a woman and if I did I would give full support.

@Heb927 - good for you, but please allow for the possibility that other people have other opinions that are just as valid as yours. Try not to be so self-righteous. Not all men are so willing to take responsibility.

@Heb927 You claimed physicians told your mother that you would have deformities as a result of a non consensual sexual intercourse. You made this claim in support of an anti abortion position. Such a position is known to tempt zealots into fabrication.

Still sound like BS to me.

@nobodyspecial - your acceptance is a given if you live in our society. We all have to follow rules that go against our personal standards. I think you'll just have to get over it. Don't want an abortion? Don't have one. But you do not have the right to make that choice for anyone else.
  • #106

@Denizen_Kate - and I strongly disagree with your comment, Ms. Kate. I do NOT accept, nor shall I "follow rules" that contradict God's laws over that of mans. You will need to get over it. This is the problem with America today...go along/get along/have no spine/do as the masses decide. Well...I don't accept this. While I never make an argument that I have the right to make choices for others, I shall never concede that you, or any one else, have a right to make choices for me.

Had a former brother - in - law was very anti - abortion until he got my wife's sister pregnant. Talk about Saul on the road to Damascus. I had to loan him the money to pay for the abortion. Polls are a dubious sampling method. Watch the episode of "Yes Minister" that dealt with polls. Very funny and very accurate.

I always believed that when you kill someone that is defenseless, that has a beating heart, that is murder. When someone kills a dog or cat it's all over the news, however it's OK to kill a baby. My God the horror of how far our nation has sunk!
  • #103
    !
Ban guns that could be used by murderers to kill 20 children. Create Abortion clinics whose express purpose is killing millions of children. I guess our laws in this nation have come to the horrific positions of protecting only those children who are wanted by parents but if they are not wanted we can exterminate them. Is that the values we place on our kids? Maybe we should go down to the homes for foster kids and take them all to camps where they can be eradicated. Gee I wonder why our culture now produces the kind of evil that can kill kindergarten children.

Abortions are just one example of the total hypocrisy of Liberals and their priorities and their so called compassion for the hurting people. These activists can't even give unborn babies an ounce of respect or caring.

Have you noticed that since the Republican party sold its soul to the abortion campaigning crowd we have had almost nothing but endless warfare with only minor contributions from Democrats. Apparently the abortion crowd will vote for any fool who will tell them that he feels their pain. In the meantime they start and loose one war after another. The result? Well, millions dead, homeless, amid destruction and chaos, all to stop a few teenagers from getting abortions.

Just would like to know if any of the pro-life religious fanatics willing to adopt any of these fetuses? I pretty much doubt it. If anything, they would adopt from a foreign country first thinking they are saving that child from some horrible life abroad. Just the typical frame of mind: worry about them before they are born - the hell with them after they are born.
  • #117
    !
So do you honestly think you should be able to kill a fetus the day before it's born because it won't feel anything? If that's the case, it wouldn't be just the so called "religious fanatics" who'd be against it, it'd also be most scientists!
  • #118
    !
@Politicskid Where did I mention aborting a day before birth? What I stated is these religious fanatics are willing to step up if a woman can't have an abortion. If they are so worried about life, they should adopt every planned abortion. They don't consider why a woman wants an abortion. It could be a case of rape or incest, birth control failure or whatever. Just because your belief dictates that you can't have an abortion doesn't extend to anyone outside your faith.
  • #121
    !
@Roco What I want to know: Do you think there should be a deadline to abort a baby?

And this isn't just religious beliefs. I think any scientist you ask will tell you a baby can fell an abortion the day before it would be born. PS: I'm agnostic.
