Since progressive liberals like to "fiddle" with the numbers of our economy and other numbers with "creative" math....and since they have learned the numbers stacking game for getting electoral votes....it's time to equalize the playing field and "fiddle" with the numbers....using their "creative" math....

Had the proposed legislation in Virginia been in effect during the last election Obama would have received 4 electoral votes to Romney's 9 in the state. This happening while Obama won the statewide popular vote by over 150 thousand. Boy, you sure are a real fan of democracy, I can tell. Preach on brother man.
Or we could abolish the electoral college completely. We have the technology to move to a nationwide popular vote winner takes all scenario. But who would want something like that. I'm guessing not the GOP.
For the record, fuzzy math is something both sides do and have for so long you can't point to who started it and when. The republicans are certainly no saints in cooking the books. I'm guessing not paying for two wars doesn't ring a bell with you all. Remember anything about a prescription drug plan? Yada yada yada, both sides all day long.

@frigginhell His handle is knightmare, just what the constitution will be reduced to if people like him get their way. Not just on this issue either. Look what bush did with the patriot act, the real ID act, the failure to enforce laws against subprime loans (resulting in taro). That is the type of thing people like them support. The right to vote means nothing to them. They think the whole constitution is the Second Amendment. Just lets hope they keep saying nutty stuff, the kind of stuff that caused two republican senate candidates who were shoo in's to lose, and two other repub senste candidates that had s good shot to loose. The kind of stuff that drove Hispanics to the polls to vote obama in record numbers, the kind of stuff that pushed a larger percentage of women voters toward obama then would other wise have been the case, the kind of stuff that put obama in office for a second term, the kind of stuff that will lose them seat in 2014, and hopefully lose them the presidency in 2016. You know the kind of stuff knightmare likes to write. Knightmare sounds like a republican, but he is really part of a vast left wing conspiracy to keep republicans out of office.

GOP Plan to 'Rig' Electoral Votes, what else is new, they can not win any other way with their propaganda so they are planning to steal the next election. They should be tried for treason and disbanded. They are an enemy of freedom and the American way, they are truly evil.

Democrats whining about rigging elections? If that isn't the darnedest case of pot calling kettle black, then nothing is.

@Rapn21 It's not my job to prove anything, and I didn't enter anything in to google. Click on the link and you'd know that, it provides all the proof of my claims needed.

Politix is unabashedly left wing. Read the profiles of their senior staff? I don't care for the pro left extremist poster moderation favoritism over everyone else but it is what it is. A web site. They're all biased one way or the other. Middle of the road doesn't sell in America today. Only extremism. Pick a side. What I notice about most comment threads is that right wingers tend to group on liberal sites and left wingers on right wing sites. Because like to fight over the internet. It's anonymous safe and nobody seems to want to sit around chuckling and agreeing with their own kind. We're a nation of bitchers.

@stepped_in_it - Jesse has already told me that the only cabinet post I'd be qualified for in his administration is Social Secretary. :)

In the 90's they Gerrymandered congressional districts to ensure blacks would win. James Clybum's district is the perfect example. His district snakes through every minority, slum infested town and neiboorhood in the state.

sounds like the district Miochele Bachmann barely squeeked a victory out of this last year. stretched across the trailer trash areas of MN to make it the most uninformed, yet most far right district we've ever seen....and afgter her national humiliation, she barely won that district...

@woodtick57 Was Rep. Bachmann's district created in the state legislators to give her more than a fair chance to win like Clybum's district?

Talking points memo? That is hardly an objective source of information, so like many of Politix recent topics, I am going to reserve judgement on this one. So much of what Politix has published lately has turned out to have been 'altered' to make a Republican or group of them look bad, and the information is not accurate. Most notable recently? The claim that the father of a Sandy Hook victim was heckled when in fact the video was altered by the news media to dehumanize Republicans. If you can't be honest about your opponent, you haven't got much of a case. Politix engages in what is known as yellow journalism.

@harold_lloyd More like something he hallucinated. That tea they drink is powerful stuff. Stronger then LSD, hash brownies, coke and herion combined! No drugs used in the 70's came close to altering reality as much as that tea!

@harold_lloyd I posted the link on the Politix thread about the incident, yes. It has been documented that the video was altered by MSNBC.

My whole issue with this is that they worry about disenfranchising certain groups. They have to ensure the blacks are represented, the Hispanics, the illegal immigrants, the Muslims, etc, etc, etc. Why has no one looked at the maps by district and realized that the rural areas are not getting represented under the present system. Obama was elected by the urban areas. The entire culture, moral values and needs or the rural versus urban area is a totally different world. Now we have a president who was voted in by the urban areas and is unconcerned with the needs of the rural areas. When you look at the election results by district the majority of the country voted republican and that majority is being ignored by the administration.

I prefer the system be left alone, but this is up to individual states to decide. This is not going to "Rig" anything as the sensationalist title would have you believe. It will modify, for better or worse. The Dems had that lesson taught to them in MA when they changed the law to replace a senator to change the decision from the governor to the people, and a few years later got Scott Brown (not before they tried to change the law AGAIN). But that was the state's right to do that.

This is why we need to abolish the electoral collage now. Along with gerrymandering. America is not a democracy. It's a corrupt plutocracy.

The problem with fiddling with the rules just so your side can have an unfair advantage ignores the fact that they won't be in power forever.

    Payback is heck.

@No_Bama Typical sore loser. Nutty comments on rape & pregnancy, self deportation, 47% are the reason obama won. By the way, i want to say "thank you" for your help in keeping him in office. Folks like you still haven't figured it out. Keep up the good work. Dems are known for losing campains: carter, mondale, dukakis, kerry. We need your help both in 2014 and 2016, so please , keep up the good work.

I don't agree w/ adding more benefits to gerrymandering districts, but I agree w/ the states rights to determine how they will split up their electoral votes. Since I don't live in any of the states it is none of my concern how they divvy up their electoral votes.

Majority is not supposed to rule in a republic such as the U.S. especially in states that have very large dense cities. Just look at the California electoral map...most of the state tends to be red while the 2 heavily dense cities (SF & LA) are blue.

This is not change of the electorial college but a variation in how some states decide who votes in the EC. Several states all ready use this system and would put more power in the hands of the people.

This article is just another example of how journalists are just lying scumbags.
