This should not be a surprise to anyone as the House was given the advice "pass the bill so you can find out what's in it". Anyone who voted for this bill was guilty of dereliction of duty -- they didn't even read what they voted for.

So far this "crackerjack box" is giving up nothing but "prizes" that are duds....it's more like opening up one of those "peanut cans" where a fake snake comes out....unfortuantely these "snakes" bite....

100% agree. Nancy said, I guess you will just have to pass it if you wonna find out what it says.
    ...and they did!!!!

Whatever needs to be done to get everyone covered. I'd much prefer single payer over this for profit, extra layer of cost system which gets us nothing unless you happen to be invested in insurance companies.

Exactly. I don't understand why so many are defending a system in which life and death decisions are made by insurance company bureaucrats in comfy offices, decisions based not on what is best for your health, but what is best for the company's bottom line.

@Denizen_Kate Exactly. The conservatives complain about turning over medical decision making to the government when the insurance companies are doing the very same thing in trying to keep costs down. The only situation where the decisions made are exclusively between you and your doctor is when you are paying the bill out of pocket. Those who pay the bills make the rules.

HMMM......all this makes me wonder. Has anyone noticed a new "filled in" box on their W2's? That is the cost of your employer for your health care insurance. Wonder if the next step (which is logical) is for the government to want to tax us for that employer funded benefit? One has to wonder what else this "government" has in store for us!

@hwyangel Only done some pricing searches (and very little at that). If you're not covered by an employer, you could be looking at anywhere from $250-450 a month for coverage (single payer)....but have not really got any firm price. Just recently heard about a "smokers surtax" of $4000-6000 a year but haven't researched much on that!
    Guess the answer is nope!

How about we pay no mind to people that insult other posters instead of actually posting a thoughtful reply?

Oops voted you up by mistake. While DARSB is too liberal for my personal tastes most recognize him as the site intellectual and sage. That you call him what you called him says more about you than it does him. Want me to send of you photo of a guy named Albert Einstein?

Thats really uncalled for. Him and I discuss things quite often and I find him quite cordial. There are things we agree and disagree on but I find his POV makes one think and consider what someone with differing opinions believes.

Well hon, your picture looks like a silhouette.....are we calling you a cartoon character on crack? Nope. Darsb, though a little leaning toward that '60's show.....is the wises wise crack I have read here!

Although I don't always agree with DARSB, I respect the fact that he is intelligent and pretty dang funny! You making fun of people speaks volumes about you.

your right they did go up but if you had seen our bills this month you would be blaming him too, is he doing anything to stop it knowing the state of the economy?, how many people are out of jobs, that a lot of employers are not giving cost of living increases?, yes I blame him!

Wachenhut and the rest of the private prisons are Obamacare's biggest fans. Soon their low-security jails will be full of "tax evaders" who can't afford health insurance...which was the plan all along.

To be fair these are politicians that have gone through our school systems....where reading and understanding are major problems but somehow they pass 'em through anyway....it is more important to know how to throw and catch some kind of ball rather than read and understand....after all....there is always pictures....

Perhaps a picture book....See progressive liberals pass Obamacare, see American people stock up on guns....

@Knightmare When you consider that the liberal/socilaists/communist agenda is to invade and control our healthcare, our economy, our schools, disrespect the moral values of the country, strip our rights, and control every other aspect of our lives then you have to believe they are brainwashed by someone who has a long range plan and plans to wear us down.

Last time I heard the number there were going to be 30 million still uninsured under Obamacare. It was just shy of 37 million uninsured that were the reason we HAD to pass Obamacare.

Are you supporters happy with less than 20% of your sainted uninsured now being covered? If you are why are you happy about it?
  • #85
    !
And if that 30 million is true, think of the Obamacare tax that the gov will reap off that 30 million.....If we don't have to jail 'em first for evasion!
  • #91
    !
@stepped_in_it The media is not saying much about this right now. But, the 30 million figure stands out in my mind. Its tens of millions and near 30.

It's either fix the glitch or I am going to have to get divorced. I have SLE lupus and an uninsured because we cannot afford insurance with my pre-existing condition.

The dirty secret here is that Obamacare will increase costs and reduce health care availability for everyone. America was sold a bill of goods by the Liberals, who could actually care less if you can get good health care or not. All they care about is control, and this is another step toward domination of you by your government. The Progressive vision for years has been cradle to grave control.
