I would say that many people want to be taken care of from 'Cradle to Grave'. You
can not be taken care of by the government and still have Liberty and freedom or
justice..It can't be done. And we are starting to see just how much, it 'can't be done'.

@mimi57 just like I heard today. Small business owners have jobs to hire for, but there seems to be no one want the jobs. With so many out of work they would rather do nothing and except what is given to them.
This is the attitude of the new America?

    @PuroChorizo361,
Presumably, you "think you're normal". So, you know what that makes you - by your own definition. I guess you didn't think that one through - did you? But then, not everyone is capable of "thinking".

And I have been called every name in the book for telling people it's coming. Yea I'm a raving mad man or a crazy man.
Except just like I said, they take a little more, just a little at a time, they do it all in the name of human health and safety.
illegal search and seizure is only illegal till they make it legal, through something like this.

(Beware the wolf in sheep's clothing)

@Thegrif That's exactly how it's done, you will never convince those who are blind
though. They can't see it, or live in a perpetual state of denial. I can't understand that!

What this was about was a trial balloon by the liberal in a state that they considered to be "ultra liberal" because the state just legalized pot. This is how both the left and right sell America short. They think because the people of a state does something extreme to one side or the other that those people will line up like little ducks and follow the big mama Dem or GOP duck right down the line. And some will. But most won't. Americans are not baby ducks despite what both Karl Rove and Obama think. This was yet another overreach just to gauge public response.

These half wit politicians are going to find out just how many responsible gun owning democrats are out there if they keep jacking around with our gun laws. Responsible people do not need goverment overseeing their every move. Democrats or republicans or any one else for that matter.
  • #8
    !
The majority of gun violence is in major cities govern by democrats, maybe that is where the problem lies?
  • #2
    !
Let me guess, politicians are exempt from this too? The furthest a police officer will get at my home is outside the front door. If they want a warrant, they can go get it. No stupid liberal law will suffice. I think there is something deeper here and I think "they" want police to be knocked off so they can make more foolish laws and I really don't blame the people for ridding us of men hiding behind a badge just so they can control another person; the police that conduct these tests must not have a lot to live for.

Yep us right wing gun nuts are just SO paranoid and delusional about the gub'ment coming for our guns, ain't we?
  • #130
    !
Suggested provision is rather dumb and unpractical however the gun nuts ARE crazy. As dumb as the slot is it still was not coming for anyone's guns it was just inspecting if you were keeping them in the right way.
  • #137
    !
@Waynestew And what do they do when they say your not keeping them in right way? And who decides what is the right way?
  • #155
    !
@stimpy I would guess like every other situation they will explain to you that this is not how you keep them. Give you the opportunity to correct the situation. And after several reinspections if you did not take "Personal Responsibility" In a manner that protects "we the people" then take your guns because you don't deserve them at that point. Like all other laws pelected lawmakers would decide, however that does not mean people are powerless to stop it if they choose to.

Not like I said is dumb and unpractical but was absolutely not me to take someone's gun. It was meant to force people to take responsibility for the weapons they own. I really don't see the problem with gun nuts always throw out the "phrase we responsible gun owners"
  • #164
    !
@Waynestew Why does anyone who stands up for what they believe in, is against new gun laws when the ones already there are not being enforced and are only intended to target lawful gun owners, doing nothing to stop the criminals considered gun nuts?

Ok, the democrats are ignorant.......the republicans are ignorant. Both remind me of dumb and dumber, fighting among themselves for top honor.....dumbest! At this rate, it makes me sure who I will vote for in the next few elections! NOBODY (as in RE-ELECT NOBODY).

Notice how the Liberals on here are saying "it's been pulled. we were just joshin' ya". No they weren't. they ran a trial balloon looking for votes and they got it shoved back in their face. So they pulled it. But the dems are willing to do house to house searches for guns if they can it passed at some point. Here is the irony. There are an estimated 12 million illegals in America and the libs say it's impossible to do a house to house search. Yet they are willing to undertake that same house to house search for 300 million guns. I guess a gun in a closet is easier to find than an illegal on the couch.
  • #73
    !
@jessejaymes What I find funny is who, in their right mind, would want that job of going "house to house" looking for guns? Almost like being a bomb tester with a hammer, you just got to know one of them is gonna blow and your job assignment is over!
  • #77
    !
@stepped_in_it Absolutely man. What are they going to do? Send Swat teams door to door? They're gonna get fired on on a regular basis. Can you imagine all the tweakers with guns in this country how they'll respond to cops banging on the door for "yearly inspections"......"y eah hold on a second. Eat the drugs man. Hurry up it's the pigs man. eat the drugs.....DAVE"S NOT HERE!"

Emphasizing safe storage of weapons and ammo sounds like responsible action but I do not want law enforcement inside my house unless they show up with a warrant.
  • #83
    !
Don't get exactly, if I store them safely, how exactly does that make it safe for others? If I lose it a decide to lock-N-load, and harm others then that is what would happen.
  • #91
    !
@Thegrif There was a news story last week about a toddler who picked up his mom's pink pistol and accidentally killed himself with it. A gun safe sure would have made it safer for that baby.

@DARSB yea I get that, but do you believe that is their real motive?
That is going to cost lots of extra money in man power. They aren't worried about little Johney getting his hands on moms .22
There is a bigger motive behind this.

I think my sheriff wouldn't even try to pull something like that. I wouldn't let him in and he would think it's stupid and wouldn't even try.

If you get a chance, look at the billwatchky.gov website and see what types of bills our state has on there. I was certainly pleased with our state officials by what I saw. It made me feel a lot better. I'm happy to live in KY right now for sure.
  • #68

@AnnieO. I looked at that as well and I think most local police and sheriffs would not even attempt such a thing. Most would be on the other side of the fence with the rest of us.

if passed I think this will be a supreme court case for unreasonable search and seizure without a warrant, kind of violates 2 consitutional rights, someone should send this politician to U of W for a little consitutional law.

This has ZERO chance of getting past the state courts much less the federal courts. And they know that. What this is, is typical politics. Overreach so far that when they actually do something it seems "reasonable" compared to what they suggested. It's the same tried and true right wing abortion end run manufactured hysteria. Both sides do it.

Regardless of whether or not this provision (or Missouri's confiscation) becomes De-facto-law, or not - the anti-American 'public-servants' have tipped their hand - revealing their true agenda - complete civilian disarmament.

And this fully explains the stockpiling of guns and ammo - by the DHS - and by all prudent American citizens. America has not been this agitated and divided since - just before the first civil war. We absolutely MUST win this one. Brace for impact.

Like I stated to people like PNWEST when this whole thing started obama wants your guns. He and others argued they are not cofiscating. Well, look at Missouri, NY, and now Washington. Lock and load boys and girls......it's gonna get ugly.

Furthermore these kind of overreaches will cost the Dems in 2014 and may well cost them the white house in 2016 just as happened when Al gore decided he was going to show America 'what a real liberal was". he couldn't just ride Clinton's coattails until he was in. This is what the Dems do every time. Milquetoasts when not in power but get that second white house re-election and they immediately self destruct.

@PNWest Freakin' amazing levels of Stupidity. I had hopes that Obama would stop on the "social issues" as his frontburner and start focusing on the economy and pass the torch but it looks like now here we go again. The dems will so alienate that someone like GW Bush gets back in and raping and looting of America is back on.
  • #95

@jessejaymes Hopefully they'll get it out of their systems in 2013. We don't need this kind of nonsense in the fall of 2014.

Yes, ill-timed is right. If he was really going to succeed in his end game, which is total disarming of the population, he had to do it gradually, in stages, without drawing much notice with each step. But Obama is a moron - we already know that. So he thought he could gain it all in one swell foop....wrong. Of course, most of us would never let him succeed in his overall goal. He will continue to hammer this one home. He would only stop with repeal of the Second Amendment, which he wants to do by neutering it if he can't repeal it. News blast for the liberal loons - you ain't getting our guns or our ammo, not our clips nor our semi-automatics. And you aren't getting in the front door without a warrant. We are on the side of right - the Constitution. Those that would destroy our Constitution and pick a fight will find a battle.

I hope every one of these stupid Liberal moves to a vote in the House and Senate before 2014. I want every liberal nutjob on record as supporting these kinds of things...so we can clean house.

This is where police officers start getting shot while enforcing the laws of a narcissistic socialist agenda, consisting of of penny-ante dullards and pantywaist intellectually-vacuous politicians—which is redundant. Next comes secession, Civil War II, and 35,000 more dead at Antietam, WA.—then video games emulating the aforementioned war, and then we get into repetitive sociology. Sheesh 4:12-17
