They are Libertarians and think and do as Libertarians.
I guess Coulter thinks they are conservatives by another name.
Once again, a brainless twitt seeks to alienate those who might otherwise be allies.
Keep it up Republicans, soon you will be go the way of the rotery phone, a relic of the past.

She makes sarah palin look intelligent. I've known libertarians for over 35 years. Never once have any of them downplayed their beliefs in free market economy. How can this idiot beleive they do?

The anti regulation Republican politicians seek to regulate the citizens lifestyles. That is big government at it's worst. Johnny Isakson still has not replied to my query as to why he and others like him regulate our lives and lock us up for nothing crimes.

You know most of you confuse the hell out of me. Piss me off too. You will debate and discuss ridiculous arguments on articles that are about the dumbest things as long as its written by anyone on the left. We are expected to act like its a legitimate issue. And if I say anything derogatory about them I am a bigot or racist etc. but let any right wing person say anything, and the straight childish elementary school insults are all any of you have to say. I don't expect you to like or agree anything some right wing person says. But no, you can't even TALK. About what they say. Just stupid insults. It doesn't matter that you hate them. I hate Obama but I try to talk about what he says or does. I don't just insult him. It doesn't matter what I think about Ann Coulter can you at least discuss the article ? All I know so far is you hate her. It's pathetic. No wonder nothing gets done. Anytime the conversation should be about a conservative it's like listening to kindergarteners. You can't even admit you are a liberal. Or explain why you believe in your left wing views. No the most far left of you claim to be left leaning moderates. But if all I believe is that we should be able to pay for the things you want, preserving the constitution, against gun control, abortion and ambivalent about gay marriage I am a extremist right wing neocon. Talk about hypocrisy I at least will discuss and consider your opinions. I am a right wing conservative. I will defend my position. And at least try to explain why I believe what I do. I don't expect you to agree or even like it. But I at least want to understand your position. But if you can't even admit what you are how can you have a rational argument defending your position? This isn't about Ann Coulter or whether I agree with her or not. It's about trying to have a discussion about issues. How the hell can anyone fix anything ?

Are you addressing liberals, left wings, or libertarians, because there is a difference between left wing and libertarian. Libertarian is generally way way more "to the right" on a political scale. I consider myself a libertarian and I'm up for discussing anything you want and will defend all my positions like most libertarians I've seen on here as well.

She really does. She just makes those silly ignorant statements to get attention. So some laugh, some are offended...but by and large---most everyone forgets her and her latest rant, it less than 24 hours after she has said it.

So she expects libertarians to support her right-wing agenda (which they don't)? She really is still in her own world.

That is what her first mistake is, she assumes Libertarian is an ultra-conservitive group. There are both liberal and conservitive libertarians.

@Yank Libertarians aren't really liberal or conservative for the most part. They believe that government in most parts infringes on personal liberty as evidenced by everything from the current movements to infringe on the 2nd amendment, upholding DOMA, etc. They believe that we should stay out of other countries' affairs, and therefor should reduce our military to more of a defensive force. Many issues side with the right as they believe in government reduction, and at the same time, they stay out of the bedrooms, so the left identifies with that.

@Hireman - My opinion is that a lot of folks from either the Dem/Liberal or Repub/Conservative ranks consider Libertarians to be a branch of themselves. BUT,'what if' scenario - Libertarians emerge to solidify as a separate party unto themselves as neither of the above, breaking ranks and populating a Libertarian Party as a third elective choice. Does that seem plausible?

Libertarians views in their pure form are fine but it suggest that people on their own have the knowledge and respect to act in a manner that could allow everyone to live and let live. To suggest utopia is to suggest that if people get everything they want the fighting/ arguing will stop and the facts suggest people aren't happy/comfortable every. Utopia can't exist because we aren't without sin.

She has viable point on Socialism......

DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN KHRUSHCHEV APPEARED AT THE U.N. AND BANGED HIS SHOE ON THE TABLE?

Perhaps some aren't old enough to remember - but those of you who do, may have forgotten what he actually said.

At the time it was laughed off by some as impossible.

Looks like he knew what he was talking about...JUST LOOK AT THE NATION TODAY AND WHO OCCUPIES THE WHITE HOUSE!.

THIS WAS HIS ENTIRE QUOTE AT THAT TIME.....

"Your children's children will live under communism. You Americans are so gullible. No, you won't accept Communism outright; but we'll keep feeding you small doses of Socialism until you will finally wake up and find that you already have Communism. We won't have to fight you; WE'LL SO WEAKEN YOUR ECONOMY, until you fall like over ripe fruit into our hands."

Nikita Khrushchev - The UN, 1959

Socialism (Marx) and Communism (Bolsheviks) are not the same thing, why everyone gets this confused is beyond me, one being a political system and one being an economic system, maybe too much tv or name calling debate forums..."Communism, or "scientific socialism", has very little to do with Marx. Communism was originally envisioned by Marx and Engels as the last stages of their socialist revolution. "The meaning of the word communism shifted after 1917, when Vladimir Lenin and his Bolshevik Party seized power in Russia. The Bolsheviks changed their name to the Communist Party and installed a repressive, single-party regime devoted to the implementation of socialist policies." (quote from Encarta.). Those socialist policies were never implemented."...try this link for clarity http://www.diffen.com/difference/Communism_vs...

    @PoliticalSpice

"Bury you" was in another speech. USSR has no lock on the Philosophy of Marx and Engels. I know what Socialism is, I travelled in countries that spewed that Doctrine, how about you? <wink>

One would have to go back to the beginning of his youth to get the complete picture, the influences that his parents, grand parents and his early mentor Frank Marshal Davis had on him. You can start with the following information that the complicit media won't try to refute, because they can't. If in fact the '4th Estate' had done their job in vetting, all this would have been unnecessary -- Just like everything about Obama, his past travels to Indonesia - and on what passport, birth records, his scholastic records at Occidental, Columbia and Harvard are all sealed, even down to his IQ.

Any thinking person would have to ask why? He has the distinction of being the first and only president attempting to cover-up his past. Obviously, there are things that he doesn't want known. The following (with references) will give you a glimpse into his past life, philosophy, his nefarious friends, associates and his questionable dealings. "A person is know by his friends and associations;" "How the twig is bent, so grows the tree;" "Birds of a feather....." Well, I think you get the picture.

Let your fingers do the walking.....

Actually, the Bolsheviks were a faction of the "Marxist Russian Social Democratic Labour Party" (RSDLP) which split apart from the Menshevik faction at the Second Party Congress in 1903. Bolshevism ushered in 70 years of misery under Communism....

For her to expose the libertarians trying to camouflage their base position is acceptable. Anytime clarity is allowed positions are easier to understand.

@Libertyiskey Typical positions are rooted in individual liberties to the exclusion of general community involvement in social sharing of time and money. To shelter this right leaning ideology the base of their belief is generally defined with a rhetoric to smooth the edge.

"We're living in a country that is 70 percent socialist. They are taking care of your health care, of your pensions. They're telling you who you can hire."

Nothing but inflammatory garbage, with little or no truth value.

Along with teabaggers and Foxhounds, people like this are going to have to be cast into the outer darkness in order for the nation to begin to recover.

Anne Coulter is nothing more than con-man. She's an androgynous skeletor in clown shoes with an adams-apple. Anne MUST say something bat -shit crazy from time-to-time to keep her image circulating ( just like here today) and to keep her lively hood intact. She has been proven wrong so many times, and called-out so many times on facts and history, she'd need her tongue to be notarized and I still wouldn't believe a word she says. I bet she has yet another book coming out soon, so she blogged something stupid again to get attention so she can sell more books and, yeah, I get the contradiction here that I myself am giving her attention by simply posting my rant. All it takes to make it money in this business is to have a little bit of balls, the gift of gab ( or the pen) no humility or shame, and surround yourself with a good publicists, ghost writers, lawyers, and publishers. She is no different in terms of principle than Limbaugh, O' Reilly, Malkin, Hanity,Beck, and the self-appointed "ministers" like Sharpton, Farakhan, and Jackson. Their common ground is to feed off, foster, and sometimes create agitation in already incendiary situations or topics. Without this agitation or controversy they would be out of a job.

I've always viewed Anne Coulter as a poser. She talks a good game about being a Conservative but she's from NYC, never married, no children, and has dated far Left Liberals Bill Maher and Andrew Stein. She's kind of like the Right's version of Ed Shultz, a Conservative posing as a Liberal simply because it's more profitable.

I only wish it was true, unfortunately there are waaay to many conservatives in NYC. How do you think we got republican mayors gulliani and bloomberg? The problem is queens and staten island. We should just give em to new jersey.

Tell me, what are the grounds for what you refer to as "good conservative principles"?
For example, if homosexuality is a moral issue and we shouldn't legalize gay marriage why isn't providing health care to everyone a moral issue? Note, I don't even think the government should pay for all of it, just guarantee that nobody goes without as a result of not having enough money. If you have enough money you should pay. But why isn't saving people's lives a morality issue but things people put into their bodies or people's choices of sexual partners is a morality issue?
I'm not a liberal. I used to consider myself a liberal. But in the end I realized liberals have also become moralizers. Example, public smoking bans. I'd consider a licensing scheme to limit the number of places that can allow smoking on the premises so that non-smokers have adequate places to go but an outright ban is simply moralizing. There's a certain proportion where it would be perfectly reasonable to say to people: you don't want second-hand smoke just go to a non-smoking place. I understand the argument that it's for the workers but people choose where they work. Don't work at a place that allows smoking. I'd consider it reasonable to require generous severance pay if a person develops a health problem that makes their continued employment at such a place a risk to their health.
We don't all this dumb moralizing. Let people live their lives the way they want. I consider liberty to be the most fundamental thing to politics. Though I'm also not a traditional libertarian. You could call me a left-libertarian. I recognize that liberty takes more than lack of government coercion. You can't be free if you're dead, that's why I support a safety net (but not full government coverage) for healthcare.
