I think I will wait and see if this turns out to be true or yet another one of those famous fake stories that the far right puts out there...Everyone then gets all upset----and then we all find out that it was as fake as a three dollar bill...

@MadAmerican By the way---I'm not a Democrat...But to your point, I have never said that at all...But its just that I remember so many of this stuff from the far right---I've just learned not to jump to any conclusions when something like this comes out, until all the facts are in. That's all.

I don't know and I don't care. I do have an issue with the Tweet mentioned in the article though. The issue is that background checks are already conducted through FFL dealers. What the government is proposing is that a central database of background checks be constructed. I am against that. It's not the government's business what guns I purchase without just cause. If they want to produce a warrant to my gun dealer and gain access to their files, that's fine, but free reign? No sir. If you don't see how such information can detrimentally be used against citizens, your logic is too far gone. Unfortunately, we have too many idiots in Congress that don't know or understand the whole scope of the universal background check system. Also, they're wanting to make it a felony for a private individual to sell a gun without conducting a background check first. It's all stupid.

BINGO, first registration, then confiscation. That is the only reason there is for registration. New York and California have already been doing this.

I wish I could say I'm surprised. But I am not. We've noticed that polls on Gun Control/Assault Weapons Ban on www.topix.com/forum/albuquerque have been skewed by out-of-town "voters". Though NM is heavily Democrat, its Democrats like their guns; they have elected Republicans for mayor of their largest city and their governor. The volume of voters on polls was unbelievably high even though the web site only averaged between in the low teens to highs of 50 visitors at a time. Senator Feinstein's false allegations that one in five police officers killed are killed with assault weapons; lies about the impact of the original Assault Weapons Ban of 1994; and now this make me think these folks would sell their souls to the devil to achieve any goal, no matter how unAmerican it might be. I am tremendously disappointed in this President and his Nixon-style tactics and underlings.

The whole gun-control push is nothing more than manipulation and exploitation of a handful of isolated, albeit horrific tragedies in order to disarm Americans. I read that 9 page Memorandum from US Dept of Justice Deputy Director Ridgeway. They KNOW that so-called Assault Weapons are rarely used in crime and they ADMIT that banning them won't impact homicides, but they are pushing for it anyway. In fact, they make no bones about recommending FORCED gun confiscation and registration while still proclaiming it will have very little impact on crime. This hypocrisy, and Senator Feinstein's outrageous lies about 1 in 5 police officers killed is killed with a so-called Assault Weapons exposes the dishonesty and treachery of these politicians. They are breaking their oath to Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States in their efforts to disarm Americans KNOWING full well it will have little or no effect on crime.

You're surprised? This from the people who seemingly have no problem with campaign workers voting six times for their candidate. The rules only exist for those willing to abide by them....

I love everyone bringing up Ted Nugent at the SOTU, but nobody cares that Jay-Z, a self-professed gangster, drug dealer and murderer, is hanging with the Obamas on a regular basis.

@AceLuby 'Bush did it' is literally all I just heard from you. I just find your(the lefts) hypocrisy a tad disgusting. Making a big deal about 'Uncle Ted' being there when the Jigga-Man, who got famous for rapping about gangbanging, murdering and selling drugs, is A-OK with you.

Where did they learn about this nefarious trick? Imagine the nerve, trying to pretend to be a grass roots movement.

I thought the Republicans had a patent on that.

Who cares? Nothing that was done is illegal, unethical or immoral. For all we know people pissed of at the GOP created these accounts just to give the GOP hell for being in favor of gun violence.

Creating multiple twitter accounts to make it seem like more support for gun control isn't unethical or immoral?

@Yank No - stupid and ineffective but not unethical or immoral. No more than the Tea Baggers that repeatedly called to vote up Sarah Palin's daughter when she was on that dancing show. What is immoral is disenfranchising legal voters, something the GOP does quite often.

Well then, shouldn't we give the Democrats hell as well for being in favor of taking away our Constitutional rights, destroying America and the Constitution itself? Why do you hate America and freedom so much? "How often do you beat your wife?"

@PNWest you are now comparing dancing with the starts to gun control? You don't consider creating these fake accounts in an attempt to deceive as immoral or unethical? Adaptive morality of the progressive left at play

Until such time as Obama will denounce it then I would have to say he gave someone a pat on the back for the idea. I;m already torqued that his former campaign assets are being applied to sway politics. I haven't heard him denounce that, either.

Texas really must have a sense of humor at election time. There's this guy, Senator Cruz and my old favorite, Louie Gohmert. Comedy gold.

"On January 3, 2013, Gohmert broke ranks with the House leadership to nominate outspoken Florida Representative Allen West for Speaker of the House, even through West lost had his bid for re-election in November 2012 and was no longer a member of Congress"

I used to think Florida had cornered the market on idiots, but I feel better now.

No mention of his calling those who support gun control as they've been victimized by guns "useful idiots and props" for Obama to push his agenda. Because, of course any person who's been victimized by gun violence should agree 100% with his point of view and not support any type of legislation on gun control. If they did then they're idiots and sheep being led by Obama. Of course this is old news. He said this to Ted Nugent days ago. Water under the bridge.

VERY FEW Americans would support "univeral background checks" if they really knew what that legislation is proposing, complete registration of all firearm transactions. Look at what happened in NY when the names and addresses of gun owners were released and put on google maps. Imagine that nationwide. Mexico is working with Obama right now using one of his new Executive Orders that creates a "database" of all gun owners, and Mexico wants all that information to be shared with them!

Lies, Damned Lies, Statistics, and Republican statements. It takes a "special" brand of stupid to listen to them and an even more "special" intelligence to believe them.
