It's scares me that voters elect people like this to congress. Hannity is an a-hole, but its his show, and he was just trying to ask some questions. If this guy had any integrity, like many other hostile interviewees of Hannity, he would have just answered the questions. Talking over someone else and acting like a child has never been impressive.

This is the reason congress can't get a thing done....if all they want is to argue and piss and moan about the tiniest of things....okay....Hannity is trying to figure out how to save the people on the Titanic and Ellison is arguing about why the rich people got better meals on the Titanic....the Titanic is sinking....if you're going to keep on arguing about the cost of the instruments being played over actually trying to figure out how to get people on the lifeboats....you're dead weight and need to be thrown overboard....post haste....

Hannity is a weak Rush. Very weak. But Ellison is a total moron. These are people who are NOT used to being questioned, or debated, or challanged. Then, complain. You work for us, America deserves far better than this idiot in Congress.

And you wonder why we can't get anything done? This Keith Ellison is a piece of work. That was disgraceful. Hannity isn't my favorite by any means but he isn't one of the people that's job is to fix this problem.
The mother in me wanted to ground Ellison and send him to his room with no supper.

@PoliticalSpice nice try but you missed the point. Say whatever you want about Hannity I can take him or leave him. There is no excuse for that kind of behavior. That looked like a kindergarten tantrum.

Hannity is kind of rude at times but you have to let a person speak and actually ask the questions. Ellison just wanted the chance to run his mouth and bash republicans and Hannity.

@PoliticalSpice Maybe somebody will, Ellison certainly did not. He merely did of yelling and said nothing. He was anything but professional.

    Contradictions

Ellison’s claims are contradicted by the newspaper finds, which place him as a Nation of Islam “representative” in 1997 and supporter in 1998.

In 1997, he delivered a statement for the Nation of Islam, apparently serving as the group’s spokesman while being described as a Nation of Islam “representative.”

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported the episode Feb. 3, 1997. The case involved Joanne Jackson, the executive director of the Minneapolis Initiative Against Racism, or MIAR, who found herself in hot water for controversial comments about Jews.

Jackson was a Nation of Islam supporter who had been quoted as stating,“Jews are among the most racist white people I know.”

The Star Tribune reported “the appearance of Twin Cities representatives of Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam at the MIAR’s board meeting on Monday.” Among the “representatives” was Ellison, according to the report.

The article said Ellison read comments on behalf of the Nation of Islam.

The Tribune noted Ellison used his religious name of Muhammad in reading the statement to the board in defense of Jackson.

    {Okay.....who's immoral and a liar again.....yeah.....'NUFF SAID.....}

I'm sure someone or everyone will correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this the Islamic Sharia law loving elected official from Minnesota or Michigan? Isnt he a perfect spokesman for the tolerance of the Muslim Democrat. this is what's wrong letting people like this into the Congress

@Bobolinsky That it's not a slight on his personal religion, but a statement on how he feels about all religion, especially fundamentalists. Anyone who has done a minute amount of research on Maher knows this, and since he was on there to talk about his religion, my guess is he was prepared for it.

@Bobolinsky He did... my guess is he wasn't prepared to be interrupted and 'laughed at' after the first question though.

Well its about time that somebody called Hannity out on the crap that he makes up on a daily basis about the president...And he is not even "good" at it, like most of the fake commentators from the right.

@crusader yes, which is why you can't take anything they say to heart. Money corrupts their opinions so only a % of the rhetoric that they spout off is genuine.

@TheJimmy With any type of discussion on controversial issues you must use logic and facts to back your argument, Hannity does that. He speaks known facts and uses that in his talks and questions. In this case he could have had a discussion about the 6 trillion he mentioned but that was not possible with a disruptive guest that only spouted out attacks and offered facts or logical arguments to the discussion.

@crusader he does but unlike the regular folks who post on here he's also a paid professional so he should be able to handle himself pretty well in a debate, that's his job.

There wasn't a conservative candidate. That's the problem. Or we would have a conservative president.

I like a Hannity but I think that is silly as well, at least the registered libertarians have their own platform and candidates. I think that is no more than just a way to show a sense of nonpartisanship with no major party affiliation. Hannity most likely votes strictly republican.
  • #72
    !
@crusader I'd say he votes more strictly as a neo-con. If you would like to see an interesting peice of work, look up the video of John Bolton, saying that " During the civil war, we killed thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands and it was the right thing to do!" This is the kind of Neo-cons that wouldn't blink an eye to turn their guns on us and the type that Hannity supports. I hope Hannity has enough sense to call the guy out but I doubt it.

@formerrepub I feel that the Civil War was not about slavery and could and should have been avoided. I don't know the context of John Bolton's statement but I do disagree with him half of the time. He does most likely vote republican but I think he is rational in most of what he says and does not support the GOP blindly without question as many do on both sides.

There is a difference between being Conservative and Republican. As a conservative myself, I tend to vote for either a Republican or Libertarian candidate since that aligns with my views. However, if the Republicans continue to slide out of my range, I will not be loyal to the party - but instead the ideas.

Mary Noble - I just have to say thank you on picking a picture that matches the headline so well! Ellison says, "You're the Worst Excuse for a Journalist I've Ever Seen" and the photo has Ellison with his eyes shut. Love it!

Hannity is much more used to dealing with "opposition" speakers who have been specifically chosen to not argue too much with Hannity. While neither behaved well, it was interesting to see Hannity confronted with someone who wasn't going to play lap dog for him.

Ellison started out by calling Hannity the worst excuse of a journalist I've ever seen. Then why did he come on Hannity's show? It seems Ellison has a big mouth that his small brain can't keep shut! I didn't know Ellison before, now his image is forever marred to me and I'm sure a lot of other people who this was their first view of Ellison!

Hannity may not belong on our airwaves, and I don't necessarily think what Ellison said was untrue (about being the worst journalist ever). However, his tirade (in this limited clip) certainly made him look like a 7 year old trying to win an argument.

This man is an example of why you should not have gerrymandered districts. He can not take the truth typical socialist trying to change history to fit what he says.
