Cynthia McKinney is back at it. Hours after the Boston Marathon bombing that killed three people and injured more than 100, the former Democratic congresswoman from Georgia suggested the government may have been behind the attacks.
"The pattern is becoming too, too familiar. So, Boston cops were having a 'bomb squad drill' on the same day as..." wrote McKinney on Twitter.
It was that kind of conspiracy theory that helped make McKinney a former member of Congress in the first place. In March 2002 McKinney suggested in a radio interview that President George W. Bush might have had prior knowledge of the September 11 terrorist attacks but did not act on it because a war on terrorism would boost defense stocks held by his father's friends. She lost the Democratic primary less than six months later.
Her public reputation wasn't emboldened when her father, a state legislator in Georgia, openly blamed her loss after a decade in Congress on the Jewish community.
Yet in 2004 McKinney made a comeback in Congress for one term. She proved controversial as ever. Her own party lost patience with her after she struck a Capitol police officer who had stopped her at a security checkpoint. In 2006 she again lost her House seat in the Democratic primary.
McKinney then quit the party and moved to the Greens. In fact she was the 2008 Green Party presidential nominee, receiving 0.12% of the votes cast.
On Monday, about five hours after McKinney's tweet tying the Boston attacks to law enforcement, she revisited the subject. "Well, after reviewing only a few of the news stories and photos, it is clear that this was a horrific tragedy, too..." McKinney wrote to her nearly 6,000 followers.
McKinney's speculation about the Boston Marathon bombing culprits set off a torrent of criticism.
Michael Shapiro (@realMikeShapiro), a venture capitalist, tweeted: "@cynthiamckinney everyone hopes you stay a former congresswomen, and a former everything else. What a tasteless comment".
And Andy Levy (@andylevy) of FOX News's "Red Eye" wrote, ".@cynthiamckinney settle down nut job".
Politix.
... then again those were just random thoughts than ran through my head and nothing that I would be crazy enough to stated behind publicly with an evidence ... lol =)

wonder how they will work it the fault of guns on this issue.
It's much cleaner to "allow" someone weaker than you to attack you and claim they slipped through the cracks than to take the risk of faking an attack.
That's just my opinion. In this I'd think this was the work of either some anti-NRA zealot hoping to fan the flames or some NRA supporter trying to make a point about bombs being more dangerous than guns.
I mean, if I do like Michael Moore did and put 2 and 2 together...

Maybe we should be investigating Big Sis? ;)
Either the prevention measures were routine, or they were acting on a potentially credible threat.
Perhaps the threat wasn't taken very seriously, in which case someone's career is in jeopardy. Or perhaps it was taken seriously and for whatever reason they failed to prevent it.
Then again, someone might have threatened to shoot people as they crossed the finish line in order to deflect attention from what he was really planning.
Sometimes the bad guys win, that's just a fact of life that we all have to deal with every day.
But to suggest that the bomb squad was on a training mission and therefore the government was behind the bombing is nonsense.
And the fact that no one has taken credit means nothing. Not every sick individual who commits acts of terror wants notoriety. They may just want revenge, or are just so sick that they're compelled to wreak havoc.
