Three additional suspects have been taken into custody in the Boston Marathon bombings investigation, the Boston Police Department announced Wednesday.
Police did not yet provide any further information, but said "details would follow."
UPDATE 1:20 p.m. ET:The three additional suspects are college students connected to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, the surviving bomb suspect. They face charges related to allegedly helping him after the bombings, the Boston Globe reports.
Two are Kazakh men, Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov, who came to America to study at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, where Tsarnaev was also enrolled, the Globe reports. The third has not been named. The names haven't yet been confirmed by a public statement from the authorities.
