New York mayoral hopeful Anthony Weiner has confirmed that a newly revealed rash of sex messages were sent by him last summer, a year after he resigned from Congress.
Weiner sent the messages in the course of an online affair with a woman he seduced via Facebook, NYMag claims. "They had a relationship for 6 months and she believed they were in love," according to gossip website TheDirty, who unearthed the affair.
"The relationship consisted of Anthony Weiner and [his lover] sending sexually explicit pictures of each other and having sexual conversations via phone," the magazine relates. "The best part was Anthony used an alias this time thinking this would protect him. Anthony Weiner used the name 'Carlos Danger' when he would email pictures of his penis via Yahoo."
"I said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, and today they have," said Weiner in a statement today. He added, "this behavior is behind me."
Weiner is still married to former Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin. And at the time of writing, he is still running as a Democrat to become New York City's mayor.
