Sounds like liberal wishful thinking. The House and most likely the Senate will be ours in 2014. We need it if we are to mitigate the devastation from the obamacurse health care legislation being rammed down our throats.

I think the house will remain (R) due to GOP gerrymandering. As always the (D)s will receive more votes though. There is a slight chance that the senate will go (R) but I think it will stay (D).

The biggest chance the (D)s have of taking the house is if the kind of people that you support get on TV and talk. Every time a Tea Party type speaks a few more (R)s become undecided and a few more undecideds decide to vote (D).

The terror. Imagine, they won't be able to vote to repeal romney/obamacare another 40 times.

As tempting as the fantasty might be I think a combination of gerry mandered districts and growing discontent with obama will keep the gop in control of thd house, but they could lose some seats. I think the greater worry for GOP is losing a couple seats in the senate...

Maybe I'm naive, but I think even low-information voters will notice the IRS Scandal, Benghazi, Fast and Furious, Sequestration, Syria, Obamacare, and so on.

Of couse the WSJ wrote this, they also wrote the counterpiece to the NYT piece about bloomingidiot Bloomberg. Sometimes you have to make hard decisions, which the House is now doing, and which Dems haven't done, at least not for decades, and at least not for what was in the best interest of country above votes and party.

@JimCO55: I think you have it backwards. The majority of Democrats seem to find Benghazi a phony scandal, but Independents and Republicans don't. Post/CNN poll and Huffington Post polls had similar finding to Fox's polls.

@JimCO55 I can't open a Media Matters link where I am, but using Media Matters to buttress an argument is like a Republican referencing Alex Jones. I believe all conspiracy theories, myself - Elvis built Stonehenge, you know.

@N0rthman : Which polls are those?

Washington (CNN)- A slight majority of Americans are giving the White House low marks for how it has handled the terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, according to a new national survey.

But a CNN/ORC International poll released Wednesday also indicates that a more solid majority of the public doesn't believe the Obama administration intentionally tried to mislead Americans on the September attack that left the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans dead.

The simple fact was that Benghazi was a failure of the guards that were hired to protect the compound ... they all ran away, no Libyan died in defense of it. Compare that to the attack on the consulate in Herat 3 days ago, 7 attackers died while 2 Afghani police officers and an Afghani guard died defending the gate ... no US personnel were injured.

Liberals fail to understand the depth of disgust and anger the majority of Republican voters have for the current GOP leadership and it's refusal to take a stand against Obamacare and excessive federal spending. We are not angry with the leadership for failing to "co-operate" with the Democrats. We will not be voting for Democrats instead of Republicans, we are hoping for the worst of the cowardly Republicans to be challenged in their primaries.

    No, you have it backwards.
Whatever you think of her politics, she's a skilled political manager.

If she were majority leader, it would be a very unhappy democrat who didn't follow the party line when she thought it counted.

I think Boehner has to fight Obama tooth and nail on a number of issues. First on Obamacare, he should put a bill forward to delay implementation for individuals until corporations are forced to comply. As much as Obama can cry about that, it is only fair. Second, the President is not going to debate about the debt ceiling. It is not necessary. Pass a budget, cut funding for specific agencies, cut the deficit, then let the Senate vote to close down the Government. In general defund all regulatory agencies to the extent that they have to fire at least half of their regulators. These agencies have done their job. Keeping regulators hired just means more regulations. That is the last thing we need.

We are our own worst enemy right now Too many Republicans are more focused on opposing anything supported by Obama than finding creative ways to move our country forward. Too many House republicans are obstructionists today. We need solutions. Solutions do not come from standing your ground, solutions come from working from the center and moving forward through compromise.

Democrat takeover pretty much assured if Republicans don't stop their lies, misrepresentations, and nonsense. Even then they've done so much damage to themselves they are not likely to gain enough credibility to keep House. Their total bias, prejudice, bigotry, and racism makes them complete losers.
  • #158

    @Hillofbeans
No proof of that. Republicans have said things like Obama broke the law but not a shred of credible proof that he has, and on the Republican lies and misrepresentations go. "Death panels". Just one lie by the right after another. "Putin kicked Obama's butt." Take your pick of the lies and misrepresentations by the Republicans.

Most districts have been gerrymandered out of contention!

However, when you look at things historically, It would fit the pattern. Repubs have one huge congressional win every 20 years, after which they consistently lose seats until their next big day.

@AceLuby I didn't think Obama would get elected again either. It's not much of a leap if enough people are fed up with current in-actions. I don't smoke, just said it would be interesting if it happened.

If our Government goes Democrat, our nation is on the fast track to bankruptcy & do you know what the Socialist Democrats will say when it happens? They will say it was the rich man's fault & not their socialist agendas. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL what a bunch of lying losers. They would never ever admit how totally wrong they have been these past 30 years. They are so totally arrogant & dishonest.

    The Wall Street Journal???? LMAO

Who in their right mind gives a shit about that rag?

But I will tell you what is going to happen... Had Obama gotten impeached, then some Democrats would have stood a chance in their respective races. But since the media was successful in covering Obama, there is not a chance of an ice cube in hell for any democrat to win any thing.

Democrat deception campaign + Liberal media propaganda + Government dependance + Victim mentality x Low information voter = Anything is possible

Remember, people who opposed Bush for spending a couple billion dollars re-elected Obama after he spent trillions of dollars.

    Anything is possible.

The Democrat controlled senate has refused to vote on every budget proposal the Republican controlled House has passed and sent to them and people blame the GOP.

    Anything is possible.

People blame the GOP for Obamacare and they had absolutely nothing to do with it.

    Anything is possible.

Hillary knew full well about the crisis building in Benghazi. She knew American lives were in danger and did nothing about it. After the attack she refused to except any responsibility and for months blamed some obscure video. Now she just shrugs her shoulders and says, "What difference does it make" and the news media picks her as the next president.

    Again, anything is possible.

"Remember, people who opposed Bush for spending a couple billion dollars re-elected Obama after he spent trillions of dollars."

Not why people opposed Bush, it just shows the hypocrisy of those who oppose Obama on this issue, but give Bush (and his cohorts STILL in congress) a pass.

"The Democrat controlled senate has refused to vote on every budget proposal the Republican controlled House has passed and sent to them and people blame the GOP."

The GOP has refused to negotiate the budget every single year. It's a GOP wish list, if they actually wanted to pass a budget they would work it so it WOULD get passed in the Senate, but they refuse to.

"People blame the GOP for Obamacare and they had absolutely nothing to do with it."

I guess if you ignore that it was created by the Heritage foundation, pushed by Newt Gingrich for a decade, passed in Mass by Romney, and was the cornerstone of the McCain campaign... you're totally right...

"Hillary knew full well about the crisis building in Benghazi. She knew American lives were in danger and did nothing about it. After the attack she refused to except any responsibility and for months blamed some obscure video."

Who needs actual facts when you can just make stuff up? Seems to be par for your course. Congrats! You live in the Republican bubble!

You forgot to add all those clips of teabaggers saying the dumbest things.

"Remember, people who opposed Bush for spending a couple billion dollars re-elected Obama after he spent trillions of dollars."

You have been struck with amnesia.

"The Democrat controlled senate has refused to vote on every budget proposal the Republican controlled House has passed and sent to them and people blame the GOP."

    And for good reason.

"People blame the GOP for Obamacare and they had absolutely nothing to do with it."

It was the Republican idea. Romneycare, remember?

"Hillary knew full well about the crisis building in Benghazi."

Show real evidence, or you just look like a conspiracy nut.

But you do serve as a demonstration of why the Republicans will be trounced, they seem to be disconnected from reality.

@AceLuby I see your point. Bush spent billions so Obama can spend trillions and naturally the next preident can spend even more. Brilliant!

Damn the GOP for wishing to cut spending. If they really wanted to pass a budget they would increase taxes, spend more money, and make our grandkids pay for it. Again, brilliant.

Created by Heritage, pushed by Newt, and passed by Romney disguised as Obama, Reid, and Pelosi. You're a genuis. The Democrats had nothing to do with it. A simple genuis. Blame the GOP...Now that's thinking outside the box.

I'm starting to understand liberalism...What difference do the facts really make.

    Thanks.

Because we watch fair and balanced FOX and they say so....and they are never wrong.....and because Karl Rove says so and he's never wrong?? Better hop off your horse of a different color, friends. You've got BIG BIG problems.
