@Medicinebow No longer will the insurance company DEATH PANELS be able to to deny people greatly needed health insurance. No longer are will the average American be one catastrophic illness away from bankruptcy. A new era has started.

As you should know this idea was originally a republican one. Conservatives were all in favor of it before Obama was elected. How many times have they failed to repeal it 45 or so? I've lost count. Had Romney won the nomination in 2008 and won he might well have implemented the same plan. Had that been the case the GOP would be in favor of it. So would I. You are correct. I am the most unbiased poster here on Politix.

Read the over 2000 page document enjoy the layoffs....be angered by the legislation's deceit and attack on ordinary Americans. Be Thrilled by the Death Squads. Be Stunned when your requests for healthcare are managed by the IRS and the Post Office.

Yup. It'll either sink or swim now. But, people will have to actively watch because the mainstream media will continue to blackout failures just like they've been doing. It's sad to say but the majority of the public doesn't know how to keep from being duped. And the Fed Gov takes full advantage of it.

Buy whatever insurance you want, you don't have to go through the state exchanges. If you believe that to be the case you are wrong. Purchase insurance like I do. No government involvement at all. No subsidy though either.

@Russell797 it has raised my insurance premums 300%. my deductible has went from 10.oo to25.00. out of pocket has went from 1500.00 to 5000.00 benifets went down. the insurance company sent a letter explaining why this has happened. they had to be incomplince with THE A.H.C.A. so it doesn't matter

@scotta What I don't understand is why some states experience significant increases while others enjoy decreases or no change. Believe me I am no fan of Obamacare either, but I support it because it fixes some parts of the system which really suck. One poster on this site with serious health issues and a son with serious health issues must go without coverage and adequit care because of preexisting conditions. The insurers have demanded over $2,000 per month to insure her. So now with the ACA they will have to take her on at a more reasonable rate. We have to pay for that, but for her to go without is just wrong.

Be Surprised again...when you are being uncared for by a government computer that controls a Doctors better judgment. Comply with the government decisions or do not practice medicine in this country. Prescribe a band aid and a Bayer Asprin or you are fired. Have you ever wondered why there are drug shortages in this country. Think about it silly Liberals

I have yet to beg for my prescription drugs and I have seen any pharmaceutical sky falling earthward yet! Scaremonger!!! They're in great quantities!

That is because you havn't been denied to prescribe a drug because of availability. we are asked to use versedi instead of propofol ( a better shorter acting drug ) for anesthesia. This is just one of hundreds of drugs including top of the line anitbiotics ( the effective ones) This takes medicine back to the fifties. Wake up and be enlightened and take your country back.

@medstudent1982 Something tells me you won't be posting on here long. I often disagree with others POV but the name calling is really petty.@PNWEST and I often disagree but the name calling is unnecessary.

I think you are smarter than that.

Thanks for this informative post. No American should die or go bankrupt because they can't afford healthcare. This should have been a non partisan issue.

@MRalph Insurance company's can no longer deny you coverage for pre-existing conditions. They can no longer jack up your premiums if you get sick. What part of this are you against?
  • #38
    !
I'm against it because, if I don't have Insurance and don't want it, I get fined for it when I file my taxes.
  • #43

@MRalph Then you should support the liberal alternative to Obamacare - a single payer system. Everybody pays taxes to pay for the healthcare system and everybody gets to use the, Because surely you wouldn't think it would be fair for you not to have insurance and then get hit by a car and put in the ICU running up hundreds of thousands of dollars in hospital bills that we taxpayers would be on the hook for. Or should you die if you couldn't afford treatment?

Yeah..that may be True..BUT, WILL they be able to AFFORD it.. with their FOOD STAMPS still being CUT???
  • #64
    !
@Peacesigh gotta make cuts this is not free and the time gov gets its pockets full it will be costly.

look for fake dem insurances to be popping up on every corner like rehabs did in ca when prop 36 passed.

@Peacesigh I am not sure food stamps were cut. House cut 40B, but hasn't been law yet. The equal amount was give in to farmers in the form of farm subsidies which 17 Republicans in the House have profited from even though they do not grow any food. I have no problem with Bush's 2008 program of food stamps being cut but it should be cut percent of benefits and not eliminating people altogether. if they get $4.50 per day, they should now get $4 per day and spread it around to the people who need it. It is a fact that red states who are generally poor and on welfare and starving will suffer from this. Farmers have 90% guaranteed income even if no crops grow. Republicans socialism in the farmland and corporate is just as bad as socialism and welfare I cannot wait until It ends for rich and poor people. if I was a farmer and knew that 90 percent of my income was guaranteed, I would just not plant anything and makes a huge profit from guarantee socialist insurance that they don't pay into. why 5 seeds in labor when the government will just pay you for doing nothing and get yourself elected to Congress and you can pay yourself for doing nothing on top of doing nothing. I think no tax credits for anybody anywhere for now on. both parties are corrupt and lie. Please excuse grammar as my sentences finish sentences above.

@tomincali As well they should be. When the baby has an ear ache or someone in the family breaks a leg they go to the ER because they have no choice. If they do pay for services rendered they get screwed on the cost, and if they never pay the rest of us must pay for them. Paying something up front to obtain coverage makes everyone accountable.
  • #179

@Russell797 maybe it is supposed to work that way yet all things with gov involvement have yet to work as said.
  • #188
    !
@tomincali Keep repeating that enough times and people may believe it, but that does not make it true. We have a high standard of living in this country because of what got us here in this place in time, and that includes our government and it's programs.

Listen, I hate this. My wife and I have worked all our lives, made some bad choices like everyone else. But finally have a nice home, not paid for, two cars, make that three because we have a 16 year old daughter still at home, the last of four daughters. We have produced a stay at home Mom who is home schooling our granddaughter, a nurse, and a special needs teacher. We raised them right, put them through school, and I'm very proud of all of them. My wife and I make about $85000/yr. Yea, we piss away some money eating out. I spend some fishing and shooting clay pigeons. Trap and sporting clays. But not much. We have almost nothing in savings because we pay our bills on time. We are tapped out. I don't have $600-800 to spare for obamacare. What the hell am I supposed to do? Sell my house? Walk 25 miles to work? Tell my 16 year old sorry, but no college for you, but you now have mediocre health care?(We do pay for insurance for her). I'm almost 60 years old. I've worked outside all my life as a construction worker and surveyor. It's hot in Texas and I'm tired. Don't really feel like dealing with this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
