Sounds to me like they are just rewording to close a loophole. I doubt there is anyone on this site who approves of child pornography.

The sexual exploitation of children is now and should always be a crime. How would you feel if someone did that to YOUR child. If making child pornography is a crime, viewing it should be one too. As far as the "pop-up" comment, if a person has several on their computer, it wasn't a mistake. That perv was looking at it and downloading it. And anyone who gets turned on by watching kiddie porn is a pathetic excuse for a human being and sure as hell doesn't deserve to have children of their own.

So say you get a virus and go to sleep. When you wake up the virus has opened to door for hundreds of porn items to download themselves onto your computer. Thirty of them happen to be child porn. Its a saturday morning and the computer shop doesnt open until monday. Sunday night the police show up with a search warrant because they tracked child porn to your computer. Should you get thirty charges for this? Brcause you have multiple porn items yet it was a mistake. Open your eyes your ignorant person.

If you can prove a virus caused it or you were hacked, no you shouldn't be charged. Some porn sites have automatic pop-ups and you can't exactly control what shows up, but a computer's history will show how many times a site is visited and you can't delete them from the computer. Even if you reformat the computer, the feds have programs to see. The point is, anyone who gets turned on by watching kiddie porn is a pathetic excuse for a human being and sure as hell doesn't deserve to have children of their own. And to the poster who referred to me as "ignorant", it sounds like you are defending this law. Watch much kiddie porn??

I guess like most crimes you need to prove intent. For example, you click on random link for new car cleaner ad and poof! an image of child porn shows up on the screen and you click it off. Is that a crime? Showing that you purposefully intended to view child porn was the problem here. Proving the professor knew what was on his computer and took some actin to make it happen.

This is screwed up....why the hell would ny do this???? are they asking for more child molesters??? at this moment I am ashamed to say I am American......so where do these kids in the porn come from??? Did the children consent to it?????do th children know what they are consenting to??? Adults can do what ever the hell they want but the line draws there....Children are our future we are to lead them in the right direction...And I hardly think child porn is leading them in the right direction...And again I am ashamed to say that I am American...the country where child molesters has more rights than the child victim...SHAME ON YOU NEW YORK!!!! THE LAW MAKERS IN THAT STATE ARE DISGUSTING TO SAY THE VERY LEAST!!!!
